QCCA news
I'm hoping to keep this thread all about QCCA information. You all know the rules guys, keep it to the subject and let's share some valuable information about conditions, rosters etc.
For the ones already flying how are your rosters?
Are the hours what you expected, less or more?
If you did "coached flying' where did you go, what did you work?
Please keep this thread alive with new information not old gripes.

not qcca but flew with one yesterday.
rostered 225 hours, 18 x days (mandatory), 2 a days
1 sin/lhr, 1 sin/fra, 1 akl/lax, 2 jnb. can't remember the rest
seemed liked a nice mixture of flying.
union to bring out a guide soon to explain qcca rules/regs
hopefully with lots of examples

Those hours surprise me. I haven't found anyone yet with that many rostered. I guess crewing are utilising their resources better now. It will be interesting to see how the trips are stacked with the lower turnaround times in home base. Mind you with the higher hours rostered we won't have to worry about being used on our A days.
milehighclubber, medical is the usual bend and stretch, lung capacity, urine test for drugs etc, hearing test, eye test, and you have to make sure you're vaccinations are up to date. Good luck with your application.

You can start your vaccinations on the same day if you need to. Usually you have a blood test to take with you to show your immunity. If it shows you need them then ask the doctor to start you up then and there, don't waste time. Some of them you have to come back for a course of injections so the quicker you start it the sooner you have the all clear from the medical.

thankyou
Hi all, thanks for keeping this all about QCCA. I'm going though the waiting process. I had my interview a week ago. I'm not too concerned as I know some people have had to wait more than 9 weeks! To the lucky ones that have been offered a position, can you tell me roughly your timeframe from Interview to 'the' phone call?
I hope we are all able to keep this thread positive as it is such a great source of information.

hey jaffac, you weren't by any chance at the QCCA recruitment day on last Friday 18th April in Sydney? Because I was there too! I hope we don't have to wait 9 weeks though!

time frame
i had my interview then a month later they called to say processing security clearance and asked me to fax my references contacts...then 2 weeks later sent an email to go for a medical.............medical appointments are booked out for about 2-3 weeks then u wait lol i think the lucky ones had their interview in early feb...most people from march on are waiting...theres heaps of people in different stages so its taking the recruiters a long time to process things..
The recruitment will be pretty much on going 'til late in the year so don't worry if things seem to be taking a while. This is the biggest Qantas recruitment in recent history and as alway the campaigns tend to go on for a while.

Hi everyone, so pleased a new thread was started for QCCA. I've been on line for a few months now and the flying, at least in my circumstance, has improved alot. The QFCC for the most part have been really great in teaching the ropes and how they do things. I have to say i haven't had a dull trip yet! And maybe one day i will even master the first and business class galley!
To everyone still waiting goodluck and hope you hear something soon

Happy to help
Hi Everyone,
I know of a few sources that i can highly recommend you read that will help you with the QCCA interviews. Relates directly to the whole interview process etc... Dont hesitate to contact me through Private message and I may be able to direct you in the right path.
Also if you are an existing flight attendant with experience or ex-flight attendant want to become a flight attendant with QCCA I can give you the link to the referral website to do the assessment day that is only for experienced flight attendants who want to join QCCA. Also if you are off the street and dying to become an F/A just message me and I will try to help you out!
Good Luck
Regards,
Rollz

Rollz I believe the link is for people that you personally recommend i.e crew that you actually know and you think would be suitable for a job with QCCA.
I don't think it should be up for grabs for anybody to post you and say they are crew or ex-crew just to get the link. There is a process for everybody to follow and it shouldn't be a queue jumping exercise.

A question please
I am still waiting for the email invitation re interview, and though I have had a huge amount of years working experience within the leisure industry, eg lifeguarding, customer service, management, etc. I was wanting feedback - would I be increasing my chances of landing an interview if I was to go out and do a short course in 'Food and Beverage Service' at the local Institute of Tafe?
I was recently in a TJQ ground school (Domestic) but had to leave due to a number of 'outside' items not working at the time. All has now been sorted and am now waiting for QCCA and also TJQ International when I am eligble to reaply
Hope to read a positive reply soon, and hope we can keep this thread alive and also positive.
