I'm also resigned from QR. Now i'm still waiting for EY call for my date of joining. I think it'll be long long time to wait.

It all comes down to the right timing.

But, because I've been reading the forums for a little while now, I can speculate that the time between your final interview and the day you actually FLY OVER THERE is about 3 months.

Applications on hold !!

It will be around 3 months time or less IF you are not on hold . I called the Etihad recruitment office last week , a nice lady said that they are currently placing applications on hold for ALL positions , so those who are kept on hold + me , hope to hear some good news soon.
I asked her what will happen if the hold period exceeds 3 months , she said we will update you if its a yes to join or a no or if they need to extend the waiting time .

I've been looking for EY cabin crew blogs too! Seems there's quite a lot out there for Emirates () but not really for Etihad..

Over a year ago i was put on hold by Etihad due to `operational reasons`. I had the medical - spent about £200 on it if not more - contract signed etc. Just ONE DAY!!! before i was due to give my notice to my employer i recived a call that I was being put on hold and told to wait.They said i would hear from them soon. Never heard from them again.... Sent them a letter in february this year asking about my position. They said....you have to reapply again! Well thanks. What a joke!!!! I didnt go through the whole interview process and spending all that money on medicals to do it again!!??
Could you imagine what could have happened if that call had come later and I had no job??

Hello,

I applied with ASCG recruitment agency 2 weeks ago and the day after i got an email saying that i had progressed on to the next stage.. I had to call them and I did and the guy said i would hear more in 1-2 weeks. It's been 2 weeks tomorrow...
Should I call them and ask whats going on? Or should I leave it until I hear something. If I dont call I may have to wait for the new year as they are probably going on holidays too.

What do you think?

hey Guys,

all applicants who are on hold are accepted by Etihad Airways inm my opinion! Why should they hold an unsuccessful candidate because those who are not accepted and who will be kep on hold will take a lot of space in their files and it will also take a lot of time for them! That means unsuccessful candidates will be informed by email and successful ones will be put on hold!!!! definately sure about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know last year Etihad did interview applicants then asked them to go through all the medicals , they even informed them to resign , followed by a hold period of 3 months and then they all got rejected. Its true.
This year i dont think they gonna do the same , well i hope so

OMG Gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What did they do??? I would not be that stupid and would have resigned until I would have my visa, my DOJ and the contract signed!!!! Normally the process is like this

1) Assessment Day
2) Message if Successful or not
3) May be put in hold
4) Medicals
5) contract + Date of Joining
6) Visa & E-Ticket
7) Training and after that flying flying flying

But the process isn't always as smooth as that..

I mean sometimes you'd have no choice but to hand in your resignation *before* receiving the e-ticket/visa..

I hadn't heard anything from the recruiters for a few weeks and then I emailed them to ask (very politely) when I might receive a reply. They called me back a few days later..

I think they really are grateful to receive reminders from applicants..

Well if the recruiting firm knows that there will be further assessment days in January.. then I do hope that Etihad will *first* be going ahead with the dozens (perhaps even hundreds) of people that they have on hold (!!)



I'm expecting to hear from them sometime in Feb next year.. if I haven't heard anything by the end of that month I'm definetely calling/emailing them another friendly reminder...

I'm going to ring them tomorrow just didn't want to saound too pushy but I am really impatient:-) At least let me know if I got the interview right!! Did you both apply to ASCG? Did it take moths or what since you already had your interview etc.? And was this another recrutiment agency or etihad directly?

** missydk,, I applied directly to etihad as well as through ASCG , etihad invited me 1st and luckly made it to the waiting stage. ASCG kept on updating me via emails ,until the recent email i have posted . (they asked me to call once for a basic questionaire),, they take time to reply you back .

one girl tol dme that Etihad recently toild her that she will be put in hold but she schould expect to begin in Mid February!! We will see!!!

I just want to inform you that Etihad office is close tomorrow until Saturday because of the holiday. SO, you should call only by Sunday...

I just submitted by police clearance, unfortunately, the HR in-charge with my application is currently on leave and will be back only by January..

Im afraid maybe I will be on hold on too.

I really want to know the result asap.. (for sure everybody does)
