Good idea starting new thread!
Hi guys, Jetstar/Altara is hiring for cabin crew in BNE/OOL, MEL and SYD. I found the old wannabe threads really helpful so I thought I would start a new one for this year.
I just got through to the video interview, and realised they aren't due until April 26. Does anyone know approximately how long the third stage will be after this?
Also do Altara cabin crew still not get staff travel benefits?

What is involved with the AD, what sort of group activities do you have to do. What do they ask at the one on ones. Any advice and tips would be appreciated.
I image there will be a lot of applicants and therefore it may take sometime to go through all the video interviews for each base. My guess is that the assessment days won't be held until May.
From what I've heard Altara crew members still don't receive any staff benefits unfortunately. However it is a casual position so this isn't surprising

Third party labour hire companies are always crap to work for, in my exp.

Happy to support you ccmum as I attended AD recently for Jetstar. Dress to impress. Look like you’re already a FA. They’re really friendly and helpful. Once you’ve handed in your resume and pic you’ll be ushered into another room and directed to a table. The group activity was come up with a marketing campaign to promote airline using an ambassador. Most chose sports stars. Come up with a jingle. We were given 15 mins and then present. Remember to contribute but listen to others, don’t dominate (our table had one and I’ll be surprised if she gets through). We were assessed the whole time. Next a written comprehension test. Read the information and answer 5 questions. My advice is read questions first then find the relevant text that answers your question. Basically a copy and paste exercise looking at how you read technical info under pressure. Then it’s one on one. A couple of questions re what skills you have and then the behavioural questions. Answer star format. Tell me a time you were resilient. A time you solved a problem in a team. A time you encountered conflict in team. A time you followed policies. A time you had a difficult customer. Always smile. Talk with others and no phone. Good luck! Hopefully I find out If I’m through next few days.
I don’t know why I reacted and posted that, it was mean spirited and inappropriate, I hope you accept my apology.
There is lots of information that I, and others have written about the AD, but it can be hard to navigate and find the info when you’re unfamiliar with using the site, hense why you’re asking.
I did the same thing when I first discovered this forum.
It was unfair of me to expect you to have researched AD info, (you can search specific topics like AD using the search bar),?
I have asked similar questions myself so Im really sorry for my bitchy comment, someone recently asked me an inappropriate question so I think I felt upset about being asked. But that wasn’t you, u were not asking exactly what happens, so I should not have jumped on you for asking a normal question that a newbie would seek advice on.
I didn’t mean to be horrible. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, (myself included), so pls ignore my comment & feel free to ask anything.
We are all in the same boat waiting, and feeling on edge about our dream job, I feel embarrassed for posting that comment, & shouldn’t Have snapped at you.
Sorry you felt I was tearing you down. It wasn’t intentional, asking questions is how we learn, and why this forum exists.

The only thing I’d add is prepare and design a picture & catch phrase for your imaginary Airline advertisement do that before your AD and it’ll definitely give you an edge, as it can be really tough to come up with good idea under pressure. 10mins
Also be aware of the time you have left and inform fellow group members as it’s easy to run out of time. Reminding your team shows the assessor you are thinking, and have good time management.
I was freaked out speaking in front of an audience, but you will feel proud of yourself overcoming any fear.
if you are the one who comes up with a cute idea for a good travel advert, itll make your team stand out and be super helpful on the day. Just make sure everyone’s in agreement.
I did want to answer this question but I already have I’m another post. And I worry we could get in a lot of trouble for divulging Qantas’ internal recruitment strategies.
Polished shoes, succinct interview answers and a good answers are imperative,. No need for specific test answers, this is enough for someone to pass if they are willing to take the time to do research and answer in correct format.
And pls don’t be tempted to wear a donut bun, I know they look neat, but that style is the Emerites & Qatar look it is not the Qantas image.

Are you feeling confident about passing? Congrats on almost reaching the finish line.
when you have more spare time for comments, can u tell us whether you wear active wear to training? or if you wear a ground school uniform? I’m so nervous to pack appropriate clothes
Im stressing about buying correct service shoes, do we have to buy a specific brand of shoe while training? Or is black leather flats and block heel ok?
I understand you are too focussed on training to answer questions, and you’ll be getting your wings soon 😊

Totally agree
Hi! There are lots of FA preparation courses out there and I did one myself before I started applying for airlines years ago but mine was more of a one day/interview preparation type.
The ones like I did above are helpful and will give you an insight into how it works/what they look for if you don't have friends in the industry who can give you tips. You could def do all this online yourself without paying the $$ face to face. The ones that cover several days/weeks like the type A certain QLD Conpany run that cost a few thousand and teach you EP stuff are a total waste of time and money.
Def consider an interview prep course if you haven't had experience in airline interviews before and understand how it works, but you can get it all off the net through research if you have time otherwise.
A solid hospitality background will get you a long way in this job so you are on to a good start. Good luck

I got through all 3 interview stages and was offered a GS date. If you are very young I think getting a hospitality or customer service job is the best preparation for cabin crew.

Good luck to everyone that has applied to Jetstar this year.
For Sydney Jetstar cabin crew :
1. Do you get to fly internationally?
2. What destinations are out of Sydney?
3. How long is ground school?
4. What does a typical roster look like?

Hi all! I know this thread is for Qantas but I had my AD for Jetstar Melb base on the 9/8 and had an email on the 10/8 advising me I was Successful and was through to the next stage.
I had sent my references through Xref and they have all completed it and I haven’t heard anything from Jetstar advising me if I was successful to the next stage again is now the 14/8
just wondering how long it took you all to hear back from them? Thanks!

Just recently did an assessment day for JQ in Sydney on Wednesday, got the email on Thursday that they are proceeding to reference checks. Start dates will either be the 13th of November of January 22nd. Super excited, been wanting this for over 10 years and finally got through! Now just to do the medicals etc and the wait begins. Anyone else at the Wednesday AD that just went past?
