Hey Rapscalion thanks for that! That makes sense, I was unsure as to whether the video interview or hogan assessment was the first step.

Cheers

Clause 3.6 Page 92 of the EBA "Incidental Payment" the $3.00 is obviously more now as it is reviewed each year but as I am not QCCA I am not sure of the exact hourly amount.

You are right the allowance is more around USD $220.00 I havent been to LAX in quite some time.

As was correctly pointed out, there is no $3.00 block payment at all.

The amount has increased and galleyhag correctly pointed this out in her response. It's more like $3.30 now due to annual increases from when the EBA was last negotiated. Lachlan Turner its not $3.00 but more like $3.30 now and galleyhag is correct.

People, there is no "block hour incidental allowance". It is not $3, it is not $3.30 - it does not exist.

Syd89 was correct from the start.

Lachlan and Syd89 my reason for posting very basic information about salaries and allowances was only to give potential applicants a very approximate idea of what their fortnightly salary would look like. The information I posted in terms of base salary is correct and direct from EBA9 the current EBA we work under. You may not have read my initial post closely but I did say the Incidental Payment of $3.00 per hour is an approximate as our EBA is dated 2012 and CPI increases would have occured.

My intentions were honourable as a lot of potential crew have no idea what an EBA is and our world is controlled by this document let alone how the meals allowances are calculated and overtime. If you are leaving employment that pays significantly more or you have a mortgage (in Sydney), loan payments etc etc I believe its important you have some basic idea.

The business will provide you with detailed information on salaries and allowances but they will not provide estimates of fortnightly earnings etc as your flying and fleet type could change overnight.

Having said all that you have reminded me Lachlan and Syd89 why do I even bother as of course you know much more than I especially you Lachlan as your post of 1 May, 2017 advised you were still on active hold but of course you know that an Incidental Payment DOES NOT EXIST.

For your reference Lachlan:

Flight Attendants’ Association of Australia – International Division,
Qantas Airways Limited and QF Cabin Crew Australia Pty Limited
Enterprise Agreement 2012 (EBA9)

Page 92

3.6 Incidentals Allowance
An Incidentals Allowance will be paid to the Cabin crew employee when he or she is assigned to and commences flying as compensation for expenses incurred by them in the course of and arising out of their employment whilst travelling. This allowance will be paid per flight block hour operated at the rate of $3.00 per hour. Adjustments to this amount will be calculated by the Company in March/April each year by comparing the latest movements in Australian Consumer Prices (CPI) against the pre-existing value of the Incidentals Allowance. Any increase to the allowance will be paid no later than from the first full pay period in May following the completion of the annual review.

Hey everyone!

Just a status update. I've recently received the video interview invitation and have successfully completed it. Fingers crossed! 😊 It seems there are still quite a few people not receiving video interview invitations even though they haven't been rejected. I'm assuming QF recruitment is just staggering out the video interview applications so they can process them. Don't loose hope.

~ Applied externally for SYD base on the April 2017 recruitment phase with current flying experience.

Applied a few days before April 2017 round external (Melb QCCA), done the video interview but haven't heard back since the video interview which was 4th May.

Anyone else heard back yet? Anyone on the same boat?

I am a bit nervous and not sure what's happening.

I promise I don't mean to be negative here, but please get used to waiting. The Recruitment Dept have so much to get through, and this is unlike any recruitment process I've been involved in. It's best to try not to think about it too much, because it all takes so much time and there will be times where you don't hear anything and have no clue where you're at. It was six months before I heard anything after I submitted, and I forgot about it completely. Saying that, once it's done you won't think of it anymore. You'll get there, and I do hope you'll get some good news soon

Thanks for the update Kadara! I haven't heard anything except the email saying they've received my application. Starting to get nervous because it seems like so many people have done the video interview! :-/

Thanks, I'll just wait. And I think I'll forget it later. So far, my understanding is this is a long process.

Hello everyone
So excited to report that I just received the golden call... Training date for early June in Melbourne. I applied back in May 2016. Good luck to everyone still waiting and my advice would be to be very patient and stay positive as this process can take quite awhile.
