Happy

Today I went to EK website, and they locked my account and there is this famous red message:
"You will be contacted by your Recruitment coordinator at the earliest"

I'm so happy right now!

Read ym post again. I did not say it will lose you the job- I said it can be a concern due to medical insurance coverage,.

Do what you want, tell, don't tell... but if you don't disclose something and you get ill (related or unrelated) later on, and they find you did not give a full history, the insurer is within full rights to cancel/void any medical insurance and you could be liable for any costs.

Sure it can be a pain to provide extra details but in most cases these details are so that EK can provide a waiver for that specific condition as it is pre-existing but cover you for everything else.

Clear now??

Like I said, it's your choice but lying/omitting information is never a good look.

That girl at QR for sure would get fired if they ever found out she lied about having had cancer. It's not really fair to expect the company to cover treatment for something she had before she joined and did not disclose. Different story if she gets sick AFTER joining.

As for comments like "getting cancer is god's will"- please, refrain from such insensitive statements.

As I did (just talking about my own personal experience, don't wan't to generalise). The day before I went to my OD: got myself an appropriate haircut. Make sure you're shaved too.

The OD itself I went in (black suit + brown belt + black shoes). Make sure you have a VERY GOOD looking close up picture in business attire: with nice (white teeth), smile, shaved!

I also put a full length photo (business attire) included with my resume. One more tip: try to profile yourself as being different without being dominant or act like a 'boss'. Be laid back, don't stress out in other words, be yourself: be social! Not too much not too many. It was my first job interview in my life and I succeeded so... . Good luck!

DOJ

Anyone with DOJ on 22nd January 2012?

Oh yes one more question. I did all my medical tests and put them online. I got an email 6 Dec that their recruitment officers were investigating it. Medically I'm fully fit though, so normally this won't be a problem.

But now I'm waiting to proceed to step 2 in the application process. Is this normal there are only 30 days left in joining... and I'm waiting 20 days now (re: 6 Dec.)

Thanks in advance

Scars

Hey guys,
I know a lot of people there got the Final Interview, I have an important question :
Do they always ask you about scars ? I mean, a scar is really a matter for them ? I have a big one in the arm, I am worried...
Do I have to think about plastic surgery ?

Can anyyone tell me what kind of clothes should a guy wear to the open day? Does it have to be a suit? At the AD day, if i get invited after the open day, should it be a black suit or can it be any colour?

!

the topics seem to be the same in all the countries, and u don't have to worry about the answer because there is no right or wrong answers; for example, they don't care if u give the amount of money for homeless kids or for the red cross. You have to worry about how to share ur opinion with others without interrupting them and the way u express urself.
In the first group discussion, u will have to introduce the person on ur right hand side, and the recruiters will ask u to ask that person questions like: what is the thing he didn't mention in his cv, what was his biggest achievement, the most embarassing moment, where he would like to travel, if he had the opportunity to be invisible what would he do... Here they want to see how you cooperate with a colleague, do u easily get along with them. When its ur turn to speak, stand up with a big smile, look at your colleagues and say; my colleague's name is xxx, he comes from... and then u answer what they told u. Be confident here and relaxed and smile and look at ur friends not the recruiters until they say thank u, u look at them and u smile.
Then they will give u a topic to discuss as a GROUP!! answers doesn't really matter. You should work as a team, u should all give ur opinion, listen to others even if u don't agree, just listen and approve.
when u finish, they will randomly choose 3-4 of you to tell them what is ur decision regarding the topic.
Example of topics: you have a certain amount of money, to which organization would u give, or are u with banning smoking in public or against it, what are the things to improve about tourism in ur country ... etc...

The 2nd group discussion u will have another topic to discuss which is more difficult and u will be less in the group.
Topics can be: ur going to the moon, list 5 main things to take with you, ur on a flight and u had an emergency landing on water, what equipment from the aircraft to take with u, the business class is over booked and u had to downgrade 5 persons, they give u a list of 10 people, who to downgrade to economy, 3 persons that influenced the 21st century...

don't forget to smile all the time, and be friendly and polite, thank the recruiters at all times after they discuss anything with u...
hope this helps!!

dress code for OD

flipper316, however there is not an obligation to wear a suit on OD, I d recommend u to wear a suit ) The first impact is very important, and if u are in a suit, u will look professional and give them the impression that you are serious about this job. Some people come to the OD, as if they just pop in to say hello )
