Do what you want, tell, don't tell... but if you don't disclose something and you get ill (related or unrelated) later on, and they find you did not give a full history, the insurer is within full rights to cancel/void any medical insurance and you could be liable for any costs.
Sure it can be a pain to provide extra details but in most cases these details are so that EK can provide a waiver for that specific condition as it is pre-existing but cover you for everything else.

Like I said, it's your choice but lying/omitting information is never a good look.
That girl at QR for sure would get fired if they ever found out she lied about having had cancer. It's not really fair to expect the company to cover treatment for something she had before she joined and did not disclose. Different story if she gets sick AFTER joining.
As for comments like "getting cancer is god's will"- please, refrain from such insensitive statements.
