upintheair7 - i do no think it would be a problem because they are quite flexible and also i do think that you should try your luck.
if the OD is 13 October means you might be having your FI around 15-16. in most cases for two weeks you won't be hearing anything and even if they do recruit you you will be starting maybe in December since you will have to do your medicals. and also you may eventually ask your recruitment coordinator to give you another date if you do not want to join them on the date they will propose you (but do tell them a reason - that you will be completing your studies on this date)

I had my FI on the same date as you, but in Kiev, Ukraine. My status says "under review". Some people i keep in contact with, already have their status changed to "approval in progress". But noone has received GC/rejection email yet.

viiva I had my FI on 15th August, and just 2 weeks after I received the Golden Call. In my group, one more girl was called the same day, and another guy was called yesterday, there are two more people from my group who have received the grooming email but they haven't been called yet.
However, there is still some people who haven't received the rejection email and they haven't heard anything about Emirates either...

and do you know people who received rejections already? if yes, did the rejection emails come previous to GC's?
Because what i really don't want is to wait for 6 weeks then contact EK recruitment and to receive rejection email in 1 hour
i read in this thread that such situations took place..

viiva - hello. i do know that people in my group received both GC and rejection mails within the 6 weeks waiting period. however i do not know how many got the GC and how many got the rejection mail nor do i know how many did not receive anything yet. like i mentioned in one of my post - it's been 3 months plus that am waiting for an answer.
some are lucky to receive it sooner while others have to wait. is no news good news, i do not know unfortunately since no one mentioned having to wait for so long. my status has remained the same since my FI.
what i mean is that no one really knows how they work out the applications - when do they contact you, why some people have to wait longer while other get their replies quickly. we can only make assumptions as to how they work but none can say for sure.

viiva From what I have read in this forum, usually they send the rejections emails and then they start to call, but in my group noone has received the rejection email yet, and they have called to some people already (just 3).

ntello and spikes2485, thank you guys. you are right - we don't know how the process goes on..( this waiting period is terrible, so we all try to figure out some rules of how our applications may be reviewed. i think the best solution for us is to transfer our attention to some absolutely different subject as nothing depends on us at this moment. of course it is not easy i know, becouse we all who wait check our ek status 25 times a day etc

Thanks to all the wonderful people that keep posting on this site. Thanks to you all because it were you advices that "probably" got me in! I am still waiting for my GC. My status changed to You will be contacted... yesterday morning and two girls from my group already got their GCs today. If there is any way I can help future adepts to become part of the "Dream Team" Emirates Cabin Crew just PM me because I do remember all the questions and some answers as well. Thanks a lot guys for making my dream come true!!!

I think my post was deleted. Well I didn't get an invite to the AD this time, maybe because of my tattoos. But they said we were not rejected if we weren't invited, we could go to other ADs in the future (next is october 30 in Buenos Aires).
This prescreening interview was conducted by the appointed agency, it was an english test and a short interview with reach test.

Maybe a silly question...have you applied on the EK website? As you know you need an invitation to the AD. You said you were getting your tattoos removed, well in the FI they ask how many treatments you have left. Is it still very visible?

Melmel thanks, yes I applied through the website too but they only make the invitations through the agency. The AD was on sunday and I read that eleven people made to the FI: one guy and ten girls.
As we were told EK is in need for spanish speaking crew so they'll be recruiting more often over here..
Yes the tattoos are still visible now, maybe in a month they wont be anymore. 8f they are then I'll need one more session and another month to heal. In the end I'll try again when I don't have any ink left just to be 100% sure.. about that at least

Hi guys...so today I got my GC! I was driving in my car when the phone rang and I knew right away its them!
Aaaaa, I just can't believe it Also another guy from my group got the GC today.
So this is how it all went with me:
OD: 27.8.2011
AD: 28.8.2011
FI: 29.8.2011
Approval in progress and grooming mail: 8.9.2011

GC: 14.9.2011
DOJ: 7.11.2011
Now I am waiting for the medicals and contract. In what time do I have to sign this things they send me and start with medicals? Cause I am leaving on saturday for one week and hope I'll get to do this at home...
BTW: do you need originals with medicals? Or can be a photocopy? Beacuse I cant just take some originals, I can only get a copy...did anyone had same problem? And exactly how long do you have since you exept the contract and starts with medicals to complete..? Can anyone explain really in detail how it goes...

The only things that you can have that are from the past, are: Pap Test (for girls), Vaccinations, and additional documents that some people need for pre-existing conditions... Blood tests have to be within 3 months.
I have had all of the vaccinations required except for Yellow Fever when I was growing up however, I have misplaced the proof so I had to have them ALL again.
I am almost 100 % sure that photocopies are not acceptable, but I guess it depends on what it is a photocopy of.

Melmel: the problem is (like for PAP-it is from 2010) that it "belongs" to my archive at the doctors and they can't give me the original (only signed and stamped photocopy). I hope it's enough. For everything else I'll have original, cause I am doing it now. Dental and chest x-ray will be on cd cause they are digital. Hope thats ok. You've done all your medicals allready?
We have the same DOJ? Jeiii, maybe we'll be in same class. Do you know if you're main fleet or A380? When do we get to know this?
