EK weight restrictions
Hey everyone!
I have a concern...
I am a little worried about my weight for EK. I made it to the FI and am waiting for my GC. In the interim I have been dieting and exercising to lose excess weight. I'm a large framed guy but I could probably lose about 10 kgs or so. How chubby is too chubby for Emirates? If it was a problem I would assume that they would not have let me go until the Final Interview; but what about after medicals? Has anyone every heard of someone being denied because they were too heavy? Should I be worried?
Thanks

To tideland: I usually write that I have no religion, i.e. you respect all religions but do not share. That's it.
I think the essays are very important in the English exam, unfortunately. Because you never know what to say and how to say.

EK, why do not we make life easier?
Keep on dreaming guys...

Your BMI should not be more than 28. If it is between 25-28, it's permissible if the abdominal circumference is within non-obese limitsfor the gender and ethnicity. Proportional weight to height is the key. You have to stay fit and healty for the job : if an attendant gains too much weight, he or she is put on a diet by the airline's resident nutritionists. I read this quote in an article but it could be otherwise in reality. I guess that would be for someone who puts on weight drastically.

AD in Nairobi
Hi everyone i attended the AD in Nairobi on 11th June.
The day started at around 9.30 with over one hundred applicants though the walk ins had to leave after the video session. That means around 70 were left.We were divided into 5 groups of 14 people.1st discussion:Tell us something about the person on your right that is not in the CV.
2nd discussion, What two sports would you eliminate or add from the olimpics.
62 people eliminated 8left.Then we did the english test and one girl was eliminated.
3rd group discussion, choose to open an airline or a cruise ship and reason why?3 girls eliminated 4left.
Final interview on 13 june
Now im just praying for the best.Dropped my pictures today, the long wait begins.

Hi PPruners
I want to share my journey with all of you.
I've been trying to be cabin crew for the last 3 and half years! I was successful with Etihad in 2009, got placed in the holding pool for close to a year waiting for training dates and then I was told that I need to reapply. Didn't get in.
I tried Qatar, made it until the joining formalities (medicals etc), but was unable to join at that time. Didn't get in.
I tried Emirates for the first time last year, made until the group discussion and then got the boot. Didn't get in.
At this stage I pretty much put my flying dream in the back seat and forgot about it, moved on and focused on other things. That's until I received the sms from Emirates advising me to check my email. I was invited to attend an assessment day that I hadn't even applied to. Gave it a try and what do you know, I'm now counting down the days to my date of joining. Got in
Here's my details:
ASESSMENT DAY - 07 MAY
FINAL INTERVIEW - 08 MAY
APPROVAL IN PROGRESS - 23 MAY
YOU WILL BE CONTACTED - 25 MAY
GOLDEN CALL - 27 MAY
DATE OF JOIN - 11 JULY
To all of you guys who have been trying for a while and to those who are trying for the first time, DON'T GIVE UP! Especially if you truly believe that you have what it takes to make it. And please guys, be honest with yourselves. If you haven't made it pass the first round of all of the 10 assessment days you've been to, then maybe this is not for you. But otherwise, KEEP TRYING
Good luck to all of you and I promise to stay in touch and keep you guys updated on what life is like being an Emirates Crew Member.
See you in Dubai soon
Congratulations Honey16

I can't wait for us to celebrate together in true Arabian style
Shisha party coming up soon

Congrats
Incredible, so happy for you guys.
I honestly get happy when somebody else receives his golden call.
Congratulations, Honey16, Flydai and Shatinho, you made it.
But now I'm so confused because Shatinho and Flydai received their G calls in two and a half weeks after their FI. And you Honey16 had to wait for five.
Is it normal that some people wait that long, and some others get call right away?
My status still says "under review," I'm so impatient now
Does anybody know how they let you know if they don't want you?
Fleity89 dont worry, I know how you look like, and you are fine. If you are dieting good for you but remember that they kept us there till the final Inter.
That hopefully means they liked us, at least I want to think that way.
Once again, wish you all the best, and hope to meet everybody in Dubai

hello guys
congratulations to all those who got their call
4 weeks of waiting now since my final interview - however am bit surprised to see that some who went for their final interview after me already got the call from Emirates.

Hi Spikes
I understand your worries Spikes,
even though it has been only two weeks since my FI.
I hope you will hear from them soon
Hard to understand how everything works over-there
Lets hope for the best, and don't loose our hope.
Please keep us posted.

2nd psychometric test in FI - Help
Hello everyone. I have just attended Emirates FI in Istanbul; but something really bothers me as even if I had completed a 180-question online psychometric test which recruiters sent to me online via a link, today they have asked me to fill another different 187-question psychometric test on paper. And only me and another guy filled it, while the rest did not. Has anyone else experienced the same? Is it a bad sign, as I am worried that I may already be eliminated . Thank you in advance for your answers.
