Hi guys
Few questions
1) How much time it took since you uploaded your medicals to get the information that you can resign?
2) Will that matter that i will upload the medicals with 3 vacins not completed?
3) My smear test report is from December 2009 do you think its enough?
4) how many days in advance before your trainning you fly to Dubai?

Guys i will really appreciate all the information!

Thanks in advance!!!

Medicals should be in English

DORINA

Ofcourse medicals should be in English...... so make sure your doctor fill it in English. if not you may have to re-do it
good luck

louizeOZ:
- do not resign from your job until you are advised to do so

kontesa:
1. coordinators work as fast as they can to accept medical tests and vaccinations, sometimes it gets one sometimes 2 or 3 days, note that Fridays and Saturdays are NOT working days, I have never received information on that days
2. vccinations are obligatory, you will have to make them anyway, but it is better to do it before coming to Dubai, not only for your health but also for money (in Dubai they are more expensive) In my opinion at least majority of them should be done
3. I am not sure, but all the medicals should be probably done not earlier than 3 months
4. you are 10 days earlier before training begins

all the answers are only my personal experience

Emirates & Tattoos

Hi Everyone

I have today been invited to attend a preliminary assessment day in Liverpool later this month.

Whilst I am very excited about this, it has dawned on me that Emirates are unlikely to accept the small bow tattoo I have on my right wrist.

I am prepared to have the tattoo removed if I was sucessful, however I am unsure what I should do from here and would appreciate some advice!!!

Do I tell them at the assessment day about the tattoo, wear camoflauge make up on the day, and tell them that should I be sucessful I will have it removed before I commence employment. . . .but this runs the risk of them deciding not to take my application any further, on the basis that I currently have a tattoo.

Or, do I not mention it, and if I am sucessful have it removed before I go? I am aware that some individuals have been sent home from Dubai when it was found that they had tattoos.

Opinions would be appreciated!!

Jess

Jesibeth

PLEASE listen-

don't tell them about it. use make-up to cover it. take your time and do it to the best of your ability. if you are successful during the time you have to do all your medicals and resigning and what not - HAVE IT REMOVED.

then go on to be the best cabin crew member you can be!

i have seen people try different variations to this advise and fail!

they will not give you the chance to find out if you are willing to have it removed!
they will not care if you are willing.

i had a friend that went through the same dilemma and she took the advise i just gave you.... she is happy in Dubai as we speak !
good luck

Thankyou very much for this advice. Do you have any idea which method of removal your friend used?

removal

its a bit gauge now ... i think it had something to do with lasers. i'll have to ask her via e-mail. but i think this is the best chance to not let the tattoo be a hindrance.

I would be careful about not declaring a tattoo. Emirates have been known to boot applicants for lying on applications. Even if you have it removed, the form you subit at the AD asks if you have tattoos. If you say no and you have one, that is a lie.

Bear in mind also that removal is not always perfect, it may leave a scar and then you will have to explain where that came from as it was not there at the AD (they ask about if you have any visible scars)

So I would err on the side of caution, maybe start the removal process, cover it with a bandaid and if they ask say it is a covered wound as you have had a tattoo removed. That way you explain both that you have a tattoo and why you might have a scar later.

(Scars are not usually a problem if not too large, they said it is just for medical/ID purposes should you have an accident. Honesty in my opinion is always the best policy in these cases!!! EK are not Qatar, discuss with the recruiters and see what they tell you)

Medical and tatoos

To louiseOz I would say find a new doctor medicals should never take that long try to go private and with an aviation doctor if you can (google pre-employment medical for emirates)and you should find a few options.

With regards to the tatoo I would mist def not mention it at the AD as in my AD one of the girls who I'm sure would have got the job offer was sent home after the scar/tatoo declaration!...as long as your willing to remove it keep it quite!

Hey Guys

I am so so so worried now. My DOJ is the 24th of May, I uploaded all my medicals and they have emailed me to say please upload the Hep Antigen report which is the HepB blood test. My hepB and hepC tests were on the same page so i just uploaded it twice, once in each category on the portal. It states very clearly on the page that there is no virus present in each ao I assumed this would be fine. What will I do? It is too late to get another blood test as they need to finalise the list of applicants leaving on the 24th of May! I think my date will be pushed back and I wont get to leave on the 24th :'( all of this is the most frustrating thing I have ever gone through!!!

xoxo

You could call your recruitment coordinator and explain what happened. I have been told and read here that it is hard to get through but if you keep calling I am sure you will get through. Good luck!

you don't have to redo the test just have the medical staff redo the report ( have them separate the results).

its so funny that all of these things i had to fight for here as well.

just insist that separated results is what you needed.

come on girl ...24th!

OK thanks ladies

sorry my previous message sounded a bit panicked! At the moment I am sitting my finals at University and trying to organise Emirates as well, it is a stressfull time!

I have uploaded the report again, they accepted it for the hepC result so I dont see why they wouldnt accept it for the hepB also, but I will go to my surgery today and get them to change it incase.

lola, have you recieved information about where you will be staying yet?

Hi
It;s been almost three weeks after my FI and today I found my status on Emirates web has changed from UNDER REVIEW on APPROVAL IN PROGRESS. For me I think its good sign...can anybody tell me what does it mean?
I know that just before recived golden call status changed on YOU WILL BE CONTACTED ....AT THE EARLIEST
My question is: Is it something beetwen..like some paper works etc should be done in 100%?
Some friends having their FI in the same tome already have status changed on TOU WILL BE .... but couple of us still have Approval in Progress.
Huge thanks for your answers!
Good luck to everybody!
