Assessment Day and No Invite?
Hello, I have got one small query in which after reading the so many pages, I couldnt find the answer.
Would it be possible to come in as a 'go-show applicant' (meaning without an invite) on an Assessment Day, in order just to drop the CV?
I was wondering if anyone had the experience and perhaps successful?
Would you mind please share your experience on this?
I plan to come on one of the London Assessment Days. The query simply came up because I have been updating my application online, changing my pictures so they would look professional and all, but I still have not got an invite. I am unsure for their reasons why I am not shortlisted but I aint giving in as yet. Hence the courage to go show.
Thank you in advance for your response.

Hello everyone
So everyone is beginning to recieve their final approvals, so exciting!!
my medicals are taking weeks and weeks, its a nightmare! I will hopefully be able to upload them all in a weeks time which will be around the 6th of May. I am due to leave on the 24th of May. Does anybody think my date will change due to the short time space between uploading my final medicals and my DOJ? I've read on here that the final approval can take weeks!
thanks guys and good luck, see you all in Dubai hopefully
xoxo

Al Hathboor Building
Hey guys!
I received my eticket & visa today, flying to DXB on Tuesday!
My residence is Al Hathboor building in Hor Al Anz. Any ideas about the neigbourhood and possibly the building? Is it close to downtown? And more importantly is there anyone staying in that building!?
Thanks for your responses=))

Hol Al Anz area
I checked on the google map. It's very close to the airport. (Should be easy to catch a taxi. I doubt that the area is very good but could be worse. Al Nahda and Al Qusais is further.) Yes, quite far from the centre. You can always call a taxi and share with others if you go partying or else. After a while, you will be able to buy a car if you want. If the accomodation is nice and you get on well with the flatmate, it's not worth to move. (I had to travel 60-80 minutes every day to work or school when I lived at home.)
Tip:
You can take the crew bus to the Emirates Headquarters and reach many other destinations from there with other crew buses for free. The metro station is opening tomorrow at the Headquarters.
I never heard of such a building... It might be something new...
You can try to move after the training: it's free of charge in the first year. (Moving costs you 1000 dhs after the first year. You are eligible for single accomodation - quite nice one-bedroom flat - after 5 years as a First Class Crew or after becoming SFS - supervisor - which takes around 3 years. They charge you in these cases as well.)
Note:
Many, many, many new people arrived in the last couple of months. It's incredibly hard to move as everything is full. (New guys in January and February managed to move quite quickly and easily. Not the case any more...) All the new buildings were opened in Al Nahda and Qusais, near Sharjah. I just went to Nahda to visit a friend: the bus stopped at 6 buildings!
I met an Australian girl in the standby lounge during my reserve. She said she stayed in Qusais. I asked how it was. Her answer: I don't care, it's free. (This answer is quite unusual from an Australian...)
Think positive!
Having good flatmates is more important than the location! Look at the quality of your building, the facilities available and the surroundings (supermarket, restaurants, home delivery) as well.

Hey
I don't have much time since I got here.... now I am adjusting with everything.
I am staying in Obaidulla 4 and since I am new I can't tell if the area is good or bad but the apartments are really nice and if you put some effort you can make it your home. I've met few girls that are from 2,3 years here so I guess it is not that bad. The distance from here to the airport and the training college isn't big and for 15-20 minutes we arrive there by bus.
Al Hatboor is in better area and the apartments are not that bad! I think that every building has its own advantages and disadvantages but for the training everything is good . Do not worry about that, worry about other things
Have a good one

Please help!
Guys, I am finishing most of my medicals but I still need to know if there is any Step 2 for the Medicals section where I will need to perform ECG exam or any other...
The thing is that I am traveling to Brazil on tuesday and since I´ve begun all exams in Paraguay, I prefer to pay here. I wasn't yet able to upload everything, but for tomorrow I should have all ready.
Once again, thanks for the tips...

For everyone who has completed their medicals; do we need a seperate reports for the HIV/syphillis/hep b&c and haemoglobin count?.... im sure i read this somewhere but am unable to find where now and also when uploading the medicals; theres a field for each test but the doctor has only provided one document with all my results.

Accommodation in Al Nahda!!!
Hi,guys. I am not a cabin crew ,still I am waiting and hoping for my golden call but it happened that I also live in Al Nahda area. This area is new and all the buildings are new with swimming pool, sauna and gym. Grocery and lots of salons will be in the next building. The only problem is that it is really far from everything and close to Sharjah. When I drive to work in the morning, I catch all the cars which go from Sharjah and Ajman to Dubai. The same problem in the evening when I go back home from work, everybody joins me and all of us stand in a traffic jam on our way back at 6 oclock. Anyway, now i work in office from 8.00 till 5.00, if I work for Emirates, working hours will be different.
Yesterday two weeks after my FI passed, still I have not received any new s from Emirates.

Accommodation, Al Nahda 2
Hi all. I have received Al Nahda too. I don't know how is it my accommodation but I think is not so bad to have grocery, salon, gym, pool and airport next to you. I absolutly agree with Mary and australian girl. Accommodation is free and this is great! Then the most important have a good and positive flatmate. For example you can receive an accommodation in a better area but if you will have an antipathic flatmate you will move out surely.
Now, anybody know if we can carry 2 trolley of baggage (max 50kg) when we flying to DBX? Or we should have only on?
