Hi there, I too have been in the Hold Pool, can you please tell me what you mean by fixed term? Is that a permanent position for Gatwick? Also, is the salary much better than the 'New Fleet' salary at Heathrow with the low basic and flight pay only?

Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

No matter what they have said, it is too soon to get a reply, especially for cabin crew. I waited 3 months for my reply and another three months to get a course. Bear in mind that there is lots of restructuring going on in ba at the moment and especially regarding cabin crew there may be longer delays, as they may consider what to offer (temp or new fleet).

Just some advice...I know it is very tempting but try to avoid calling them asking for news. They are well organised and they will call you when they have processed your application. And remember...no news is good news

I wish you best of luck...

Cabin Crew - New Fleet

Hi! Can anyone tell me please if BA will contact old referees all over again. I've been in the hold pool for about 15 months. I know we are supposed to give refs for the past five years but hope they will just want the lates ref. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Would contact BA but think they are very busy.

If they offer you a course, and have contacted your old referees already, i would guess they would now contact your new ones, if any...

Wait until they offer you a course and then you can call them, talk to the relevant department and get an answer...

If you are still waiting to hear from them, be patient...

I am sure you will hear from them soon. They are now recruiting for csms, which themselves, will recruit the future talent and main crew for the new fleet.

I have flown with a few people who came back, after finishing a temporary contract a couple of years ago. It is not sure if they would transfer to the new fleet, but I guess they will be asked to, as they are already working with new terms and conditions.

If you have not had any temporary contract with ba already, then I assume they will contact you for the new fleet straight away, unless a further strike action goes ahead and in that case they may need a few temps again.

I wish I had more solid facts, but at the moment everything is a bit vague...The only thing that is for sure, is that the new fleet is going to happen, so all of you in the hold pool, would be invited to join. What i would suggest for those of you with experience, is to advise ba when they contact you, that you would be interested to join as "future talent crew". It sounds exciting as within a year, you could be a csm. During this year, you will be taking long haul flights in charge and do on line training for your future position.

Good luck and be patient... See you online!

Thanks blue, your input is appreciated and yes! I think also that BA would not bother to contact old refs. As to saying I'm interested in the future talent crew, well I am and I will certainly ask to be considered. Good Luck!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to check. BA are only hiring now for CSMs right? Or are they hiring regular crew too? Their website says only CSMs at the moment but some comments here seem to say otherwise!

Thanks

Angel

Internal applications and those in the hold pool only at the moment for main crew but external soon I am sure.

P.S. Well done Georgie

Well done Georgie

Well done and congratulations to you Georgie!

I had mine on the 12th, it was so intense, but really nothing I was not expecting...

Just be focused and think before you speak really...and keep yourselves on track regarding time and locations of your assessments!

Good luck to everyone!

Take care

Thank you so much Georgie...

I am still waiting, checking my e mail every 5 minutes... Horrible feeling... Did you have to wait the whole 7 working days?

Did you get a starting date?

Good luck with the paperwork, I bet you are looking forward to handing your notice in!!!

Enjoy your day!
