Medicals

I´m joining EK next month and I´d like to ask u few Qs concerning my mediacls. Everything has been fine so far just I have problem with vaccinations. In my country, we don´t have the vaccination against the yellow fever recently and I´m not gonna be able to have it until I have to send my medicals. Could you pls tell me if I can send them without having it?
And another Qs concerning No of Plates used in Colour vision test. What is the general No tested?I´m asking because my doctor forgot to write it and I´m not gonna see her as she is too far so I wanted to write it there.
I have also problem with the Chest Xray. My doctor said it was prohibited to give it to me. She said she couldn´t give it to me and I don´t know what to do now
Please help meeeee!!!!!!

Congrats on getting thru.....I am currently waiting to hear back, am only in week 2 of the long wait and was wondering how long you were waiting to hear?

Anyone else reading this could you's say when most of you were waiting to hear back, how many weeks?

And were you aware if most people in your group that made it to the final interview got through?

Thanks guys!!

hi there. I found out 16 days after my final interview. there are still some in my group who haven't heard, but it also depends when you can leave. I said in my final interview I could leave asap so I think I went ahead of the gang. I found medicals very difficult and expensive since I don't have insurance but its all done now and just waiting for the final approval.

don't worry yoghurt_girl85

I am also 22 like you, also asian.
I get a lot of "you look like you're in high school" bc of my baby face too.
But it really depends on what you wear and what you make yourself look like.
When I went to the open day, I put on my dress skirt (they like pencil skirts that are fitted but not too fitted), and a shirt and a conservative blazer jacket. I even bought a red lipstick that I had never worn in my life, put my hair in a neat bun. (I would have never gone anywhere else looking like that.)
I think the right appearance is very important for EK. You have to look classic and conservative.
I really think the red lipstick worked out for me. Nobody would say I look 16 when I have my red lipstick on.
You can make yourself look older, not too old. Just the right age for to be a cabin crew.
Good luck!

Yoghurt Girl, instead of taking the time to find out where you should have posted, you posted your questions in the wrong thread.
Which is why they were moved to this thread.
Basic housekeeping and a courtesy to those forum contributors who already have the job with EK.

Oh and for those of you who wonder where your posts have gone, if they where written in text speak, they were deleted.
This is an internet forum, not your mobile phone.
You do not pay per letter, and unless you write normal text and use basic punctuation, your posts will be deleted.

It's my turn to give some feedback about my Open Day that I have attended on 16th May in Bucharest/Romania.

There were 2 nice ladies/recruiters named Lucy and Cristine.

We were about 130 people in the first day, obviously too many. So after the very famous presentation/movie we all went to leave our CV and a small interview for about 2-3 mins + the well known test where we have to rich 212 cm. After that they said that those who will pass will be called back that day by 19:00 PM.

I was one of those that got the call that day along with 67 more, that means that out of 130 only 68 were called next day.

Next day we 1st had the group discussion that you already all know about, we had as a topic to design a new suit for Cabin Crew members of Emirates.
We got split in 2 groups: one group had to design a male suit and one group a female suit.

During the discussion everybody started talking without letting others speak also. A lot of noise I might say. We had 10 minutes to debate, and after that time the group picked me to present the suit (due to the fact that I was a male, in my group there were 14 girls and 3 guys).

After I started presenting the suit, it seems that I didn't understand very well the color of the suit, but I still went on with the presentation. I obviously did not pass the next step.

I am very glad I have attended this "interview" for Emirates, I have learned some new things and I will also try again. My advice is to be your self, smile all the time and listen & pay attention to everything.

If there is anything I can help with, just ask and I'll be glad to give you more details.

cheers

People how about reading the Stickie with the forum rules before you make your first post?

Posts in this forum MUST:

  • Not use text message abbreviations.
  • Make sufficient use of punctuation & grammar to be readable.
  • Not be used instead of private messages.
  • Have a point (i.e. be relevant to the thread and not chatter)*

* This means that any of the following stuff is not to be posted...
Facebook links, blogs, I'm so happy for you, woohoo I got it, wish me luck, send me a PM, msn me, will you be at the interview, follow your dreams etc. etc. All of this should be done by PM on PPRuNe (if you must - we'd rather that you didn't use our server space for it) or by Text Message - in fact do it anyway that you want - BUT DON'T POST IT ON A THREAD.
You need to be very clear on this - If your post does not contain concrete fact about the recruitment then it has no business on PPRuNe – anywhere.

Elleni:

Congratulations!!!
Just to let you knw that it took 3-4 days from receiving the "golden call" to when the e-mail came through. This is normal, so dont panic.
If you haven't received it by Thursday, try to contact them to make sure they have the right e-mail address.

Thumbs up Got my eticket and visa!!!

Finally everything is sorted...car sold and lugguage sortly packed...and the most importantly my eticket and visa came in this morning!!!

However, they booked me to leave on May 29 instead of May 30...probably May 30 flight is oversold and luckily I will get 1 extra day off before the induction day (June 1). Now I must rush my packing and taking photographs to take with me. Oh...such a relief! May 29 is right at the corner

See you guys in Dubai, keep trying and keep discovering!

I am worried about packing since I can only bring 50kg on the board, i gotta leave a lot of stuff here..
Anyways keep in touch. I'm sure everyone will have a lot of fun in Dubai.
Anybody joining on June 27, please contact me!
