I cannot remember exactly how many days did it take them , but approximately, from 2-3 weeks! i got crazy too! But I kept callin them everyday and followed-up my file process.. This is what you should do to make sure that everything is going right..

No - thats exactly what you should not do! Have some respect for HR, they are processing hundreds of people and someone calling on a daily basis as if they are the only person that matters is discourteous and irritating. Trust me, you will be attended to in a timely and professional manner. Give them a break and have a little patience!!

My Last Post

Hey guys,

I arrived in Dubai 2 weeks ago, in a really good appartment, sharing with a cool guy who has been here for 2 and a half years, in central dubai.

Training is going really well,

If your going for it, then stick with it, it's all worth it in the end,

Juat a word of warning for you though,

There are so many crew starting, 6 classes every week, that they are finding it hard to put everyone in permenant accomodation, and you may be in a hotel apartment in the desert for the first few months... but apart from that its all great!!

business attire?

hello everyone,

I'm starting with Emirates soon (6 weeks!) my DOJ is July 11th so I'll be starting training in mid-July. I know that I'm supposed to wear business attire to training and I'm wondering what appropriate business attire would be when it's 120 degrees! Should I just wear full suit or is there something appropriate I can wear in such heat? Any info would be great!

I've also read the last few posts about a new uniform? I would love to see it, so if anyone has pictures please post them.

Hi Guys I Arrived In Dubai A Few Days Ago And I Must Say Im Kinda Disappointed! Not In The Training Or My Future Job Though.....but The Temporarly Acomo They Had Placed Us! We Out Of Dubai In The Desert Far Away From Everything! All The New Crew Whos Joining Will Be Here Too! 4 Months Before Our Acomo Is Ready! So That Means 4 Months In The Desert!theres No Gym Or Shopping Centre Close By! Everything Is A Mission And Everything Is Far!its Extremely Hard To Find A Taxi Here! So I Dont Know That Was Not Mentioned To Me In My Contract! It Says Literally You Will Be Base In Dubai! But We Are On The Border!!!!! No Jokes!!but Anyway Either Than That The Training Is Going Very Well! Its Very Intense And Its Allot Of Work To Study! As In Realllllllly Allot! Just Pay Attention In Class And You Will Be Fine!and When You Fly To Dubai When Joining, Tell The Crew Who You Are, They Had Upgraded Me To First Class When I Came! Really Nice! Just Show Them Your Joining Letter!

Final approval

I got my final approval today!!!Everything goes so fast!!My DOJ is on 13th of June, it means in one week!!!Im so excited but at the same time really worried. So see you soon in Dubai guys and gals!!!

Hi to everyone from Ecuador

I'm really happy that you have joined emirates, I work in Lan Airlines as a cabin crew in B/C, but i really want to apply to work for emirates but I'm afraid because my writing in english is pretty bad... but i speak and understand 100% english, could you please tell me what kind of english test they take on the interviews?? Thank you so much in advance for your response.

Being upgraded to F/C on the way to DXB wasn't in your contract either, so, GROW UP and smell the Arabic coffee.

YOWzer You will be given the uniform on day one, so, you will only need a suit for the first few days, the rest of the training will be in uniform, (the old one).

medical in london

I am posting this information for anyone who are searching for any help in obtaining the necessary medical reports before getting final approval!

When I contacted my local NHS GP in London regarding my medicals, this was the answer i got... "What do you want an x-ray for, we don't do that!!!"

So I did it all privately... Just wanted to share the contact details for the cllinic I used...


It is called MoorgateMD, and they were excellent.
The Doctor did the general medical, and took blood samples for the Haemoglobin count, and the HIV test.

I then went straight to London Bridge Hospital to have the x-ray, and to Harley Street Hearing Clinic for the audiogram.

All in all I paid Ł400 (Ł120 of which were for the audiogram)
I got the x-ray and audiogram graph straight away, and the results for the blood samples the following morning.

Got my final approval, and I am flying out on friday the 13th! Unlycky for some, but not for others... hehehe!

U.s. Open Days

Hi, how are you, I saw that emirates just put open days dates for the US for the first time, they have put dates in Los Angeles, Houston and San Francisco, but, does anyone know if they will come to New York soon?, I'll be looking forward for your answers.

to answer your question, not sure. I live in new york and I finally gave it a shot and went to an open day in Dublin, Ireland and was lucky and now im going to training on the 27th of this month, kinda suprised they didnt add new york but guessing they picked iah,lax and sfo because of new cities and i guess they want more americans for those routes? just guessing. so if you can get to one of those cities i would definately go.

i'm going to send my medicals tomorow and i'm wondaring how long is it takes to get the final answer? and also- what could be not as they want it in the madicals to receive a "regretz"?
i have all my vaccination done, my medicals are ok, dental health too, tests negative and normal..
they called me in 24th to congratulate me, in 27th i got the mail and tomorow (9th) will be exactly 2 weeks, so i hope i will be in time for sending the documents, right?
sorry if this post sounds silly but i hope you guys to understand me i had a hard time the last weeks because tomorow is my defence of a diploma work too in the university and both dead lines made me crazy.

and one more: about the audiogram. the doctor filled it in the papers (the medical form) till I was in the cabin and been tested, should I have a graph too?

i know for sure you need an audio gram graph. As for the two week thing if your a day late its no big deal just let me know, and it took them about 11 days to give me my final approval. Just call them after you have sent it to make sure they have received it. it is possible it gets lost sometimes and if there is anything missing in your report the will email you and btw you get your final approval by email as well.

final briefing - visa

Got my final briefing, visa and ticket yesterday, but somehow the visa doesn't open... anyone have any idea how to view and print it??

Some info would ease my mind!!

Hi everyone!
This is my first post, and i've been shortlisted for the Emirates interviews.
Have done the initial one, reach test and group interview.. now have a day long one next week.

Can i ask how important is it to get the "How to become Emirates Cabin Crew" book??

Or is it just a bit of common sense, be presentable, research etc.

I am a little scared because i get nervous speaking in front of a crowd..i can deliver, but not totally confident.. do you need to be super confident?

Any tips anyone? good websites for info i should review?

I am so excited!!

and spent the next three decades running cargoes between Oporto, Rio de Janeiro, New
Orleans and Lisbon. Acquired by an English sailing fanatic in the 1920s, she was
bequeathed to the nation in 1938 and finally put out to grass in Greenwich in 1951.
The trust, formed to preserve the elegant sailing ship, will be putting in a bid for
funds to the Heritage Lottery Fund, which uses money from the National Lottery to support
local, regional and national projects to preserve Britain's historical buildings and
landmarks.

According to the federal government, harvesting tuna fish in the Pacific Ocean using a large net does not significantly affect nearby dolphin populations, but animal and environmental groups refuse to accept the findings.

General Appearance and hygiene

Don't worry, no one expects you to look like a supermodel. However, You need to look well groomed.

Take out any body-piercing except ear rings (one per side)
No visible tattoos (this is a BIG no-no)
Makeup should be kept simple; DO NOT over do makeup.
Hair should be neat. Long hair tied back or bunned up. Hair away from the eyes. (LÁSD. A FOTÓMON - ezért cseréltem le a régit erre, ez szerepelt a cv-men. A beadandó fényképen tartsd magad egyenesen, nézz a kamerába, viselhetsz blézert és blúzt, vállak láthatók.)
In fact as a general rule the face should be kept clear of hair.
No drastic hair colouring.
Get a good manicure or have your fingernails neatly trimmed (no bitten nails)
I recommend nude colours for fingernails or just transparent enamel.
No body odour and bad breath.

Clothing and Accessories

Conservative and smart is best.
A skirt and blouse, or pants suit for women. (Megjegyzés: CSAK ÉS KIZÁRÓLAG SZOKNYÁS-térdig érő- KOSZTÜM AZ EK OPEN DAY-RE. A FOTÓN IS!)
The skirt shouldn't be too short when you sit down
If wearing a skirt always wear stockings
Stockings as close to your skin colour as possible.
For Men : Suit or Trousers , tie and Jacket
Nothing too revealing
look smart yet comfortable
Wear proper shoes and no slip ons
Always bring a nice folder to contain your documents.


The Interview


Females should sit with legs crossed
Don't shake a leg! - Don't fidget
Greet the interviewers by name - They will probably have name tags on, or ask.


"Good Morning Mr Tan, Miss Lee it's a pleasure to meet you My name is Mandy Smith."

Wait to be seated

The Questions

When the interview starts, relax ,DO NOT get flustered.
Always allow the interviewers to finish asking the questions.
Play the answer in your head before you say it out loud.
Politely ask the interviewers to repeat the question if you misheard or do not understand.
Speak clearly and slowly. DO NOT rush. DO NOT use "er", "um" ,"lah" : etc to pad your sentences.
Do answer the questions in full sentences and support them with examples.
This often allows the interviewers to respond, thus creating a conversational atmosphere that isn't one-sided.
It is vital to have some answers prepared for the usual questions such as:

Why do you want to be a flight attendant?
Do you consider this as a career?
What is your current occupation?
What is your hobby?

Know the latest airline news
Be careful of scenario questions such as:
What if a passenger accused you of forgetting his drink - what would you do?
THE TRICK
1. Be positive
2. NEVER be defensive
3. NEVER say the passenger is wrong
Be prepared to read a passage of text (to see how your diction and confidence are)
BE CAREFULL WITH JOKES - THEY CAN REAL KILL YOUR CHANCES IF YOU GET THEM WRONG
If they ask you about your strengths or talents, tell them Be careful not to sound boastful!
If they ask you to name a fault or weakness, say something mild.

For example say "My weakness is Chocolate" as there isn't much to fault you there.
In fact, some interviewers may join you on that!

DO NOT say negative things like:

"I'm IMPATIENT" or "I have a SHORT TEMPER" or "not a morning person" - (or I don't like to travel :-D)


Above all, try to be composed and pleasant.

After the Interview

Thank each one of the interviewers
Tell them you're grateful for the opportunity for them to get to know you.
Say you hope to hear from them.
Last but not the least and certainly the most important of allr30; DO NOT forget your smiles throughout!
