how u send medical reports???

guys! hello! and kubalibre thanks alot for your feedback about photo formats..

I wonder about something although Im at the starting point of the long EK journey (IF I manage of course ), about the medical reports; do you scan the reports and then convert them to pdf format and send them via e-mail to emirates recruitment mail? OR with DHL u send these documents to HQs? I just wanna know the procedure and what u guys doing about that... Hope everyone here can achieve being a part of Emirates family..

Talking Update! Writing from my 38th floor flat on SZR (with the best view around!)

To everyone who is joining Emirates, yes there are pro's and con's to joining this company but is that not the same with every company out there. If there was one company offering all the best things, then ofcourse everyone would apply to that one. It is your decision and think about it before moving here. We for one are having a blast over here.

any advise! PLS!

HI Guys!!

Last year I went to another country just in order to attend an OD and I had a final interview (it was in May). Unfortunately I didn't make it through, I received a "No thanx, maybe next time" email, and I was told that I couldn't reapply after a period of 1 year!

The thing is, Emirates is conducting an OD in my HOME COUNTRY!...IN MY CITY in April! As you can see the difference is just 1 month!! Can hardly believe it!!
I think I wont be able to travel to another country this year (c'mon I'd love to join Emirates but I'm not rich!!) so this is maybe my only chance! I just don't know what to do.

Any advise?? for said 1 year, does it really mean 1 year(12 months?..365 days?) Do you think I can attend this OD?

HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi,
I think you should go for it and take advantage of this unique chance, if you are suitable to the cabin crew position they wouldn't mind if you are applying a bit less than 1 year. So I encourage you to apply and attend the OD in your home country. Stay cool...

My angel with wings just flew away...

Thats it...!! My daughter left for Dubai today. That was the most stressfull two months ever. I will be happy when I see her in the beautiful uniform but she still has to pass through all the medicals. It was well worth the effort !! In the meantime I can now relax and wait for her phonecall. She starts her training on Friday after undergoing medicals and introductions etc etc.

Hi there, not posted for a while but a regular reader.

I know exactly how you feel, the months leading up to my daughter leaving were awful and stressful for me too. But, time goes by so quickly....my daughter has now been gone 18 months! It took her a while to settle in Dubai, I can't say it was easy at first and I'm sure there were times when she could easily have come home, but she's having a good time now.

The novelty has worn off, and she gets a bit fed up of work now and again, like anyone would in any kind of job, but she's made loads of friends both within EK and out.

I'm sure your daughter will be fine and you'll be surprised how much you get to see her. IN the early days I remember picking my daughter up from the airport twice in one week!!

She'll have a very busy 6 weeks training then off flying all over the world. I wish her the very best of luck, and I know you'll be fine too.

Best wishes from one parent to another,

mother hen.

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Hi there, I'm still waiting for the results of my F.I, it's almost 6 weeks... I called them this wednesday and they told me that they are still working on my application and yesterday they asked me again for the papers about my previous airline (even I sent everything last week, maybe they didn't receive them?)... I really don't know why it takes so long, 2 of the people that had the final interview with me in Rome are moving to Dubai today while I still don't now aything... I thought that it could be a positive sign that they asked me other documents and photograph but I'm starting to loose the hopes.

Is anybody there which is in the same situation?

Yes, I Will!

THANX LEEMARLON!

YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, I WILL ATTEND THE OD, I don't know what's gonna happen but I have to try!

I don't know if I should re-apply online or just attend the OD, what do u think? I also thought about sending an email explaining my whole situation to the email address they gave me after the final interview... not sure is a good idea..

Whaterver, contrats to all people joining Emirates these days!!
cheers

Salam!!!!!

Hey in your case I would wiat until the 12 months are fully over! I attendes as well an Open Day and I was unsuccessfull in 2006! I had to wait one year and than I tried again with success!!!! So please if you listen to what I tell you, just wait that month to re-apply and dont go for it before the one year period is over! Emirates has lots of plicies and they dont want you to make a fool of them! There are 1000s who wanna join so dont let them put you on their ignore list!!!!! Wait that month and try again later if they will come to your homecity again or to a place which is very close to you! Remember the policies and the rules for that comapny! They are very strict, very strict!!!! And dont play with your good chances!!!!

Good luck anyhow and do whatever you want but this is my advice for you!!

2 WEEKS AND I AM JOINING EK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother Hen

You are a breath of fresh air and brought tears to my eyes. I feel much better now. We moms certainly need a support or therapy group (LOL). Yes it is such a big step but it all happened so quickly. I am actually married to a pilot but it is just not the same. I am really curious to know how the first week goes. Do they have access to telephones, sim cards or internet. I would love to be in touch the minute she lands. She also left unfortunately with a 5 day course of antibiotics (unavoidable ) She is NEVER sick I am worried about the drug tests. SHe has all documentation and prescriptions on her given by the doctor here.

about sending medical results (If I get to that stage of course ) do you send them via DHL to Emirates HQ or scan them and send via e-mail?

Edit: Do they direct us in order to go which hospital or place for making medical tests? Or finding doctors are up to us ?

becoming a pilot at 47

Hi guys

Im apprioaching 47 years of age. i had a long standing dream of becoming a pilot. i worked for the engineering side of aviation for 14 years. i'm now considering joining a careers pilot training program(naples air center). the cost of training will not strain my finances nor will the simulator training afterwards.

I would apprecciate it if you could give me your views and opinions generally and in my future prospects as a pilot.

Many thanks
