Hi Blueskybird. Most airport codes have some form of logic behind them i.e. they are similar to the airport or city they are associated with - JFK - John F Kennedy, LAX - Los Angeles. Only really odd ones are Canada - YYZ - Toronto. All Canada destinations begin with a 'Y'

Ba Crew Bus To Compass Centre

Hello,

Is there a BA bus from Term 123 to Compass centre? If yes how often does it run and how long does it take?

When Crew will be reporting to T5 (May?..) is it likely that report times will be changing slightly?

Thanks

There is bus service BA1 that goes from CTA (Central Terminal Area) which is in front of Queens Building. I would say it runs every ten minutes and takes about ten minutes to get there!

I have just received my Insight CD and start work on 10.03.08 LHR WW, I only have access to a laptop which uses Windows Vista and the details won't load up. I have called the number on the back case stating I have a problem but they just said it is my issue and CD was created before Vista!!

Has anyone else had this problem at all and if so what did you do to resolve it???

Thanks in advance

BA Recruitment

Hello everyone

Congratulations to everyone leaving the holding pool and getting on courses and all those getting through the interviews.

I just would like to ask a couple of questions regarding working for BA. I have flown as Cabin Crew this was nearly 10 years ago now but always wanted to return. Working for one of the best companies in the business is now my aim.

Each time the recruit they seem to ask for different types of qualifications, what do I need. I have O Level A Levels and Degree. My only draw back seems to be the lack of O level Maths and Language qualifications.

If there is anyone working for the company or a trainer I would be glad of the advice. I also wonder my chances as I now in my late 30's, do you need to be young to get into BA as is now the case with charter airlines.

I have asked the question before but haven't applied yet as each recruitment campaign seems different. I am wondering if I should give up the idea if it's something that may never happen. I am not worried about which fleet I would get allocated I would just appreciate the chance of working in the job again.

Thanks

You have nothing whaysoever to concern yourself about your qualifications. I would be more concerned about being over qualified. Many of these requirements are merely to discourage those that are time wasters. Make sure you have a clear CV highlighting your current profile and abilities. The age limit is round about 60+ and that has more to do with pensions and tha investment that we are required to make i.e. it costs round about £4000 to recruit and train you. I am sure you will be welcomed to an interview just focus on special things that you will bring to BA people skills diversity team player etc. Go on line today and get started, the world awaits you.

Uniform Fitting

Hi
Ive got my uniform fitting on Tues and straight after I am flying back home (France). I dont know if we will be given uniform to take back with us on this day but am worried as will prob be overweight with my own luggage plus and any extras BA give me on that day. Also is it a good idea checking my uniform in or better as handluggage and will it be to big to take on as and luggage?
Thanks

Hey annaspanner, you don't take any uniform away with you after your fitting. All you take home is a uniform book on how to wear it and look after it. Hope this helps you. x

Not posted on here for a long time, but here's some words of wisdom...

Current thinking for WW termps is they will "go" after the 11 months. This COULD change, but that is the current position from the company.

The thinking of management at LGW is the the last raft of temps that came to LGW caused more "problems" than solved them. So this course of action is not being promoted for the future.

You have been warned...

A job a perm job at LHR will give you more cash and less "uncertainty".

A job at LGW will give you more fun, and more chance for promotion.

Good luck to all those starting on courses from tomorrow, you will be the first at LGW to be accredited with BA GNVQ's after your 6 months as long as you complete all the things required of you.

My 2p's worth....

Uniform..

Annaspanner, what time is yr fitting? I have mine at 0900 on Tuesday as well. Re whether you will get yr uniform on that day is a possbility I have been told. A friend of a friend of mine who is starting on the 25 Feb had his fitting last week and he was given all his uniforms on the same day!! I suppose if they give them to you and you cant take them just leave them and collect them when you start yr training.

Uniform

Hi

I Had My Uniform Fitting Last Friday, I Was Told By Lots Of People That You Were Not Given Anything To Take Away With You...

This Is Not True, I Was Given 2 Huge Bags Of Jackets, Gilets, Shirts Etc. I Had Flew In For My Fitting That Morning From Spain And Didnt Bring Any Kind Of Suitcase And Had To Carry To Hugh Bags Plus My Own Things Around London All Day.

So If Youve Got Your Fitting Soon, Id Advise You To Take Some Kind Of Suitcase With You If You Have Got To Travel A Long Way Back Home....

They Did Tell Me That I Had Been Issued With A Staff Number Thats Why I Was Able To Take The Uniform Away With Me..........thats A Good Sign At Least!!

But I suppose if there is any adjustments to be made, you wont get them straightaway, right? Spoon, they must have all fitted you perfectly?

WW Air Cabin Crew

Laurent74,

They took about a week and 1/2 to get back to me, depends on how busy they are, they do get tons of applications..

They are pretty speedy though, so you shouldn't have to wait too long!

Good Luck
