Hey

First time here, just wanting to see if anyone else from here is heading to the JQ Assessment day tuesday in Darwin for Internaitonal ??!!?!?!

Received a call from Jetstar and was told that I was successful! They said they'd email the information of criminal check and medical check.

GS starts on 24th Oct, I'm sure I'll see you girls there.

Have you herd any news yet, from what I have gathered they have already called Int people to tell them successfully or not..
I on the other hand applied for Dom ... But still no news.

It is taking such a long time I do hope we hear back soon.

Hi Girls,

I did get a call on Monday saying that i was successful. Security and medical forms have been emailed to me. I am international and GS starts on the 24th of October. Missocean Maybe they have you in Domestic instead, sometimes you don't always get your preference. So there is still hope yet! I know they have already called the unsuccessfuls! So don't worry you won't be forgotten!

I guess because I have been waiting so long I am starting to think I am unsuccessful.

Hi girls.

I received the details for the security & medical on Sunday by email. I've sent out the security forms, and my medical appointment is tomorrow. I know a couple of people who were successful and both are for International position, same as me. It seems like Domestic is taking a bit more time, doesn't it??

I still think you girls should have heard from them by now if you were unsuccessful.

JETSTAR / ALTARA MELBOURNE

I was interviewed with Altara/Jetstar for Domestic Melb base CC position on 27th July 2011 and went through the final afternoon face to face interview...but until now I have not received anything yet from them whether its a YES or a NO. Really, waiting is killing me, I even emailed them asking for my final status, unfortunately no answer. I am guessing its a NO for me considering its almost 2 months now.

Anyone here same situation as me?

I agree with bluesky...There is no way that your refrences would be called if you were unsuccessful- and in regards to unsuccessful refrence checks...it is highly unlikely as potentical employees are able to obtain there refrence check documents once they have been done and its too easy to sue for defamation that the whole thing is rather pointless although mandatory.
They must be getting International underway before domestic.
Perhaps ground school for Int and Dom is at different times?

Missocean...maybe you didnt get your first prefrence but were still successful and are going to join domestic.....

Do you know if your refs were called??
Did they give you any time line to say when you would hear back??

I emailed them and they got back to me straight away...Maybe just keep trying to get a response from them.
Dont give up if you reallly want this

I finally got the call to say I have been accepted to groud school......Subject to medicals ...ect.

Ground school starts on the 7th of November.

Has any one else heard any news??

entry point is through altera, full time positions/ contracts will be offered to altera casuals. if i were you i would submit an application into them now as you can wait months for an assesment day! good luck

entry point into jetstar is through altera, they offer full time contracts to altera casuals, same goes with qantas via MAM. you would be best to submit an application online now as you can wait months to get an invitation to an assesment day. Good Luck

Thanks for that! I know that you shouldn't really believe all that you hear but I've been told that if you can help it don't go through Altara? Something to do with the conditions. As a casual are you on call all the time or just during designated periods???? I guess as long as there is opportunity for full time work not tooooo long after starting - just for that nice stability Thanks for getting back to me so promptly! I will definitely be applying soon then

I love working for Jetstar, hours are really good (100+ per month) and a few overnights per month as well.
