Benneh - If it were an email after completing the online application, it is most likely informing you that they will contact you with details of the next assessment day. If it were after you FI and you have already been to the AD, it will be regarding ground school!

Heya guys, nope, it was just an email saying that when a recruitment day will be held in Sydney and there's enough room for me, I'll be in it, but it might take a few weeks or months for that to happen. I just wanted to find out what made your application successful and how best to prepare for the actual one-on-one interview. I understand the role plays and group activities etc, and I'm a great networker so I'm not nervous about that, I'm moreso nervous about keeping my nerves under control when I'm talking about why I should be CC for Jetstar!!

Melbourne had 3 x assessment days only three weeks ago & they said they were only looking to fill the Sept 12 GS.
I waited 2 months from the email to an invite, so an assessment day can definitely be a fair wait.
They also did Sydney 3 days last week

I attended the sydney assessment day on the 4th of August. On Wednesday this week one of my references was called, but other than that, i have not heard anything from Altara.

its me again (i changed my username) i also went to the 4th sydney assessment day. im trying to remember who you could be now cos there wasnt too many of us that were called back for the afternoon. i was one of the 2 asian girls that was there in the afternoon, not sure if you remember.
i still don't know if my references were called yet, i asked them to let me know but havent heard anything, now im worried!
the place i work at deals with pre medicals for companies and yesterday someone called in asking if they could book to get a medical check up for jetstar! my heart near jumped out when i heard that cos in my head i was thinking... someone got an email!!! i refreshed my email like crazy but still nothing.
im glad you wrote on here though! now i can keep updated with someone else and know im not the only one just sitting around waiting for an email haha. good luck!

I can't really remember a lot of the people that were back in the afternoon either, but I was on one of the front tables with blonde hair if that helps..

i got an email today, i didnt make it =/ i guess their no news is good news saying wasnt true.. i waited so long and got bad news! hahaha
my email also said i cant apply for another 12 months =( this sucks.. i was really looking forward to some good news!

Hey guys I am new to this, I was also at the SYD 4th of August RD for Altara/Jetstar casuals and got a call today saying I was successful! I am so happy! Was wondering if anyone else got a call today too? And if you start GS in October also?

Cairns assessment center
I attended Cairns Cabin Crew assessment on 17th Aug, and did second interview on the afternoon. I havent got any phone call and e-mail from Jetstar....so that mean I did not pass? Did anyone get any reply from them??? I have been waiting......

Hey Guys, I really do think that jetstar/altara are seeking image, I don't think merit has great importance to them. I was at a recruitment day not long ago and didn't get a call back. Well I was severely disappointed but went back to the hotel out of curiosty to see who got a call back. OK heres my point, they said before we left for lunch that they would take everything into consideration in asking us back for the afternoon. So I was extremely surprised when I saw who got called back for the afternoon session. Some with their hair out, some without stockings and not dressed professional, such as casual shoes etc, some that didn't complete their maths test, some that just sat there and didn't talk too much at the table, some that didn't contribute much to the group activities, some that didn't have long or great customer service experience and some with a combination of these and the list goes on. There were a few there that got called back that I think I would have picked if I was one of the recruiters, it isn't rocket science spotting polished, professional people. But god only knows what selection criteria they used for some of the others, but they all had one thing in common. They were all attractive people. Now I don't consider myself ugly by any means but what I am saying is that their most important criteria (the one that they don't mention) is definitely that unmistakable trendy, contemporary look. There was one girl at my table that managed a hotel for gods sake, she was goodlooking,(although not that contemporary trendy look) more of a classical look and as far as I'm concerned she conducted herself so naturally professional, she came over really well in every way but you guessed it, she didn't get a call. Now jetstar are a value based airline and much of their profit comes from sales during a flight, put the 2 together and what do you get? Thats right, value based (especially asia international) = young under 35 travellers and sales during flight = you can't "sell" food but you might be tempted to buy it from a young, contemporary, trendy hostie. Don't go figure, it's plain as day.

I was at the Cairns interview and am also waiting for a phone call from them! Two weeks passed today.... None of my referees have been called yet either. I didn't get anyone's phone number from the assessment day so I wasn't sure if other people were still waiting or only I was forgotten even to be told that I was unsuccessful
So I'm glad that I found you here!!

I hope they'll ring at least one of mine too... Well, it was a huge recruitment, it can take a while to hear either good or bad news. I just need to be patient!

I too am waiting to see if I got the positin for cc cairns. Does any one know how much longer we will have to wait ???? Or even how many people they are looking for?? Oh I want this soo bad
