Regarding the CrewLounge logbook lifetime subscription, I waited a long time to do the transition from the previous software, but after 2 emails to them, they offered me the same lifetime subscription for free (grandfather’s rights) a few months ago….
I’m reasonably happy with that logbook.

Greetings all. Long time lurker, first time poster.
For those of you who use a spreadsheet logbook (ie Excel), I found a day/night time calculator online, and it's free! I'm too new here to post a url, but you can copy and paste this: www.pairingpicker.com. There's a link near the bottom of the page for the calculator. I'm not sure of the accuracy, tho I find it convenient to copy and paste my times and then recopy and paste into my logbook. Could any users of other electronic logbooks, ie: Foreflight or Log10, compare day/night times with the Pairing Picker website and let me know how close the times are? Many thanks.
Cheers,
Abby

Logger - Pilot Logbook
You can try Logger, fairly new player on the market for iOS and Mac. Competitively priced, with airline integration, ADS-B and ACARS scan options. It can convert most of the current logbooks with single tap. More info here: Logger

I know there are a lot of electronic logbooks out there, both paid and free. Let me introduce yet another one: my own project, which is free and open-source
Hi,
I'm a new user and cannot send pm.
Can you help with installing your app, I'm on Linux Mint and new to those tar.gz things...
Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone,
I’m using CrewLounge PILOTLOG and have been having logging issues, I’m wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and know of a fix. I have been in touch the support team and although they say nice things they have provided exactly no solutions as of now.
So, the main problem is the app is changing my entered flight times from local to UTC time and date. I have the settings set to “log flights in local time” and “log flights in local date”. Because I live in NZ (UTC -12) basically every day flight is loading as night time and half of the flights are loading on the wrong date.
Any ideas?

Hi aluminium hail
I am based in Europe and I do use the same logbook. I have logged (private) flights in NZ before, but I did use ZULU times, since I also filed VFR flightplans in ZULU etc., so never had this issue. I just tested PILOTLOG and changed my homebase to NZAA and the settings to log DATES as "UTC - GMT Date" and HOURS as "LOCAL - Local Time at Airfields".

Also make sure your night settings are as follows:

I created two test logs, one as an AM day flight and one PM flight, departing day, landing at night:
I pretended that this flight took place on the 20th local time (=19th UTC), all correct:

For the second flight I had to change the date manually to the 20th, because here in Europe it is still the 19th... but as you can see it logged night time correctly after this correction, as SS+30 in Kaikoura was calculated to be 17:50LT today.

So, maybe changing the date settings to "UTC" will help and logging in UTC-hours will definitely solve your night/day hour issues. For the correct dates you'll have to watch out as to what the app is actually doing. In theory it should be doing it correctly with DATE set to UTC, but... let us know how it's going.

PilotLog
Hello!
I have been with Pilotlog (MCC) for many years. Ive tried recently to contact them through their technical support page which registers your login details. I have also tried via their contact pages, but have not heard back. I must have tried about 5 / 6 times and absolutely nothing.
Is anyone else experiencing poor comms from Pilotlog?
If anyone can recommend an online logbook provider which works well on Android / Windows and IPad i would be grateful.
MCC pilotlog is a real let down...

I've had an issue with their new mobile app for months now, and I stopped receiving replies from their tech support.
I've moved to Flylog.io despite holding a lifetime license for Pilotlog. Unless they get their stuff sorted out, I will ditch Pilotlog for good.

Sad indeed, as it still would me my preferred solution. At the end of the day the only issue I have is that all flights are synced as incomplete on the mobile app and I would need to confirm each and every one of them. I guess first world problem if we consider that the sync with the csv file is flawless on the desktop app.
However, they really need to come up with a new mobile solution.

I don't think that they are doing this on purpose to scam people. When the software was still run and administered by the Belgian founders, it got bigger and bigger and they were overwhelmed by demand for support and running cost. That's why they sold it.

Do you mind selling the lifetime account to me?
