Can anybody shed some light on where Vista will Base the current advertised Pilot Jobs...?
It works on a gateway system: there is a list of "suitable" airports from where you will be "airlined" to your a/c (temp) base for the next duty period, then back to the same place on Day 17...

You better live close to one of them! List on PPJN, not sure if up to date, tho!

Apparently the choice you make regarding the gateway will determine whether you will be employed or a contractor with them, due to the new social security legislation in the EU.

Malta base is being "suggested".

A buddy of mine got an email from them 10 days ago saying that his application would be passed to the appropriate hiring manager for review. No news since then.

Same...no idea what they are looking for in a bizjet pilot. Not a look in!! Apart from not having a rating, I exceed their requirements with what I like to think is pretty decent global bizjet experience and don't get the luxury of an interview. Enigma!!

Probably looking for some young guns, who are prepared too pay for their rating and be so inclined to take all the "bs" that will be thrown at them...

Don't be sad if they reject you - it may just be a blessing in disguise especially if you are expierenced. A lot of such pilots have been rejected by them over the years - you just have to study this thread to get an idea.

AFAIK no money-exchanging-hands with VJ so nobody has to pay for his/her own TR. Bank guarantee required for a 3-years bond tho, unless practice have changed.

T&Cs questionable? Well, unless the doctor said that signing on the dotted line is matter or life or death...your call, ain't?

Yeah- unless practice has changed, that bond surety reflects on your bank account as a BIg 5 digit number with a negative prefix.I.e:. no per rata. If you leave one day early befor the 3 years are over, guess what is going to happen ??? Better have a good lawyer in that case, he will possibly be able to help you out claiming your money back.

It is really hard to read all the bs that is said about Vistajet in this thread.

No one needs to pay for the type ratings anymore, there is a bond, which i think is totally understandable and fair.

The 17/13 roster is very stable and works good.

The salary is not the best in the industry, no doubt about that and additionally a lot of other stuff still needs improvement, but over all this company grew in such an enormous speed into a true global player, that of course there are some things still working like in a small business outfit, other stuff is already as professional as it can get. Honestly, in terms of SOPs and training we are on a very good way over the last years and i seriously dont think we are worse than any airline.

The flying in VJ is challenging and extremely rewarding. You will get absolute worldwide experience in a short timeframe and you are flying with a lot of very motivated, skilled and friendly colleaugues. Also the support from Dispatch, Crewplanning etc is most of the time great. Thats for sure.

This does not mean we are not supposed to work on the existing problems:

I am sure that the management is. Just give them some time to fix the major ones. You cannot have all at once. 10 years ago, we had 3 aircraft, now we have 40. Just imagine that, and than you can see why not everything is perfect.......

I normally just read this thread here, but now it was time to defend VJ a bit since 90 percent of the stuff that is written here is complete nonsense, which was propably written by pilots that were not accepted for some reason or fired or whatever. It is the only explanation i have for all these lies.

Dont get me wrong. I am not a management pilot whatsoever and i am internally complaining and trying to push things into the right direction. But i cannot stand if wrong things are said and continuosly repeated. It doesnt make them right, only because it is told often.

Happy landings everyone

Those Training contacts are not worth the paper they are written on. I don't know anyone who has ever had to pay one back, and if there is someone, then they were scared into paying it.

It just more airline style BS.

The point is that you don't pay, they can and will impound the sum from your account... I know this because it happend to a friend of mine. It took a lawyer to get the surety cleared.

FLYDUS: that is good news - good to hear that. Maybe I will consider to apply if they are looking for my Type...

If you are quitting why would you expect to get paid? And as you just said, a lawyer got it back anyway

1.) Do you understand how a bank surety works ? It is not about getting paid.

2.) People have different reasons for quitting - sometimes because of the way you have been treated or you have a growing disagreement to some expieriences you have been exposed to or operationally confronted with as an employee, that are unacceptable to you as a professional. Do you think in such a case it would be advisable to squeeze your butt and stay a year or two longer until the bonding time is over ?

Vistajet? Latest news, anyone?!

I've heard from people I know who work there that it is a very decent place to work and as we know, on decent modern equipment. The roster is generally better than other rotations being offered and the flying is interesting. Currently being made redundant, Vista looked to be an attractive place to work however for some unknown reason my experience doesn't warrant an interview which is disappointing. They give no reason why not and to be honest I don't think they have a reason. It's frustrating!! One generally hopes that if you exceed what they require, they will at least be interested in meeting you at which point they can decide if you are suitable as a person. They don't want to do this and I just want to know why this is.
