Perspectives
@suitcaseman You stated what was said and written (facts) followed by your interpretation "No surprise there but Jetbird seem determined not to give up." (no facts, I believe).
In my opinion it is just what managers say if hyped project dreams shatter to pieces. The things he said save the faces of both project partners, it's just "execu speech" for "over and out". Have been working for aircraft manufacturers, learned a bit about that kind of wording in similar situations.
So I thought you would haven taken the words from Embraer's VP a little bit too literally. But this is only my interpretation, no fact.
So, if you say you are not enthusiatic I have no reason to doubt that, of course!
Sorry for misunderstanding you.

"it's not dead" and "it's pending a strategic review".......ahh, just love those choice words.......bit like calling a van driver an "executive steering wheel co-ordinator"........
perhaps when companies past have failed, rather than declaring insolvency, bankruptcy or just not being viable business models we should declare them as above......

Flat Spin - don't knock it totally, as I don't think it is totally dead. I hasten to add that I know it cannot make money but there's always some fools that get hoodwinked, especially when its a very "sexy" industry.
And, to finish, I do know that the guys are seeking investment to get this going again and are already doing the rounds! Life support machine is still on.......

They had a number of pilots trained on the Phenom...If there was the slightest possibility of a miracle then I would have thought the investors may put an emphasis on hiring back the pilots that were laid off.
Don't get your hopes up...bet yes if you aren't in a flying position you have nowt to lose!! Just be careful!
