I have been in a Avanti and there is no way I could stand up in it.
1.75m is like in a Falcon 50, little bit better than 1.4m. especially if you need to use the lavatory.

I thought the thread was about the woes of Jetbird, not some nobhead blokes arguing about turbo probs versus jets !!

Can't you address other people without using names?
The point was about the VLJ business model which is still waiting to be demonstrated... and it seems we'll need to wait little bit more as JB is apparently not gonna demonstrate it that soon.

Well, I would say that JB not even being able to get 1 single flight off the ground since 2006, is all the proof you need that their VLJ business model was about as appetizing to the public as a turd in a punchbowl.

Accounts filed recently show that JetBird Ltd (Ireland) made a loss of €4.27 million in 2008.The airline incurred administrative expenses of €2.3 million and “business costs” of €1.7 million relating to expenses racked up in 2006 and 2007.
It operates from offices at a business park in East Wall, Dublin. The accounts show that seven employees earned €1.12 million between them in 2008.
Having such accounts is maybe not the best way to launch a new business, especially considering VLJs low margins... how many commercial hours would be required only to cover these expenses?

Isn't there a perfectly good VLJ thread in this forum where you could have this discussion? I came here looking for new posts about Jetbird, but there aren't any. Interesting your debate may be, relevant it is not.

With 200 euros of margin per hour it would require 5600 hours only to cover the 1.12 millions paid to the seven lucky guys in 2008. Do you expect this to happen sometime soon?

Redundant today

All (12) pilots informed they have been made redundant today.
Core company will stay in existence hoping for resurrection in 2010.
Anyone want a Phenom pilot (JAA)?

That would make sense if somebody was buying a pre-owned aircraft but free type ratings are provided to buyers.

Saw somewhere that some bloke in Egypt needs a Phenom pilot. Other than that, I don't know many people flying this jet at the moment.
