It's similar to that one (it's a pusher :p) but it's not French mate!
|
but it's not French mate! Wing root at top left?... http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/7...allenge027.jpg |
American yes, civil yes, twin-booms no!
Not their first pusher, maybe the second and their next was to be a whole lot bigger and more!! Edit: Yup, that's the wing root! |
Fascinating challenge mate! :ok:
Going round in circles here and I mustn't be entering the search criteria correctly in Aerofiles. My immediate thought was a Convair product but it has twin booms. The search goes on... Early start tomorrow mate? |
My immediate thought was a Convair product but it has twin booms. The search goes on... Yup, another early start and a busy day, but the night's still young as yet and you're nearly there, but watch out, watch out, there's a Ken about :) |
American yes, civil yes, twin-booms no! their next was to be a whole lot bigger and more!! |
stick on the same page |
Yes mate, a single Continental C-65
Am I going wrong here? I'm thinking B-36 Edit: I see it's too late now and you can't say I didn't warn you :) |

Evening Ken,
No need to guess mate! It is the Convair 111 Aircar :D http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/...ircar111-1.jpg skytrain10 has control :ok: (and very timely too as a neighbour has just called with New Year Greetings, so I'll have to go now). So Good Night gents and have a good day Graeme, hard luck mate, you were soooo close |
Thanks Trevor...here's the next one:
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...r/53a7f3d2.jpg Closing down soon, so usual rules apply...if someone thinks they have it and it's supported by someone else please move on. |
Morning Ken.
Cleverly cropped and not the obvious? :) |
Cleverly cropped and not the obvious? A slightly expanded view: http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...c3eada1a-1.jpg |
Evening Ken. Is it a Russian "Ekranoplan?"
|
Morning Graeme...not an Ekranoplan but a surprisingly common aircraft....in fact this would have made the Noyade500 :) You would be hard pushed to visit a major airport without seeing one of these aircraft :)
|
I am a dejected man Ken. So no engines straddling a vertical fin?
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/6429/img333h.jpg |
You're drawing reminds me of the Fireflash in Thunderbirds
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...5eu9eLGkRzD0dg But sadly nothing as exotic...in fact the aircraft is rather ordinary. Stand-by for another explanded pic. |
Let's reveal a little more!
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...r/3211049b.jpg Civil aircraft, not military....and yes those are windows you can see! |
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/382/img334v.jpg
Sorry Ken, just can't grasp what I'm looking at. Now it looks like two jet engines on TOP of the forward fuselage? Very clever challenge indeed. You would be hard pushed to visit a major airport without seeing one of these aircraft |
Must be an engine test bed... Boeing 757?
Edit: looks like it; http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...02b1cLarge.jpg |
