Thanks Karlark. We didn't build a lot of aircraft, but the Pika is a favourite of mine. :)

Thumbs up Kitbag! :ok:

G'day Kitbag. Unfortunately I'm not one of the 'some'. :(

No idea really. First thought was the very finny end of the XF-85. But no. Then I tried to work out the fin shape...

I can't figure out some of the detail at the bottom and at left of the photo. Now I'm thinking that the exhaust is not directly under the fin?

Just had a look at What Cockpit. Anything to do with the YB-49?

Kitbag 29th December 2011 21:24

Everything to do with the YB 49, this is probably 42-102367 being prepared for an early flight. More here

You have control.

Noyade 29th December 2011 22:37

Thanks Kitbag!

Noyade 1st January 2012 20:27

G'day Trevor. :)

Got a few hours to kill before work. What am I looking at mate? Very small jet intake, airscoop, piston exhaust or none of the above? ;)

Presently 24 deg.C at 0830hrs and looking at a top of 38 deg.C later today. :(

(Mate, just had a look at AviaQuiz - no challenge?)

SincoTC 1st January 2012 20:34

G'day Graeme; survived the first day eh, or are you in one of those high buildings in your prediction?

It's a smallish airscoop.

Quite mild here, 10 C, colder tomorrow max 8 C, then milder and wet for the week!

Yes, it looks like AQ's starting afresh, dunno if they scrubbed the last one though, or when the new one's going to start!

Noyade 1st January 2012 20:40

Piston engine? Further to right of screen?

No mate. Did you see the film? We need to build an ark - seven of them. :(

SincoTC 1st January 2012 20:48

Piston engine to the left, 'tiz a pusher.

No mate, I haven't been to the motion picture house for yonks; I hear they talk now :) !!

Edit: JIC you hadn't noticed, my answer is on a new page!!

Just thought of a French one that we had on AviaQuiz...but no archives now on the Dauntless site?!

In the right direction?
