Indeed, Noyade is correct;): Beags was playing with you...It's a Quaintance Spratt 108...

Constructed mainly of Polyurethane foam and fibreglass, it had folding wings and a tow hitch so it could be towed by a car. The original engine was a 60hp Mercury outboard engine(!) but was replaced with a Subaru car engine...
It was controlled using Mr. Spratts 'Controlwing' system:eek:

Anyway...over to Noyade for the next teaser...and I'll retire into the shadows and continue lurking for another 10 years until another one pops up that I know:}

Although the image you've posted is a model, the real thing did actually fly - somewhat surprisingly!

Indeed, I couldn't find a decent pic of the real thing and as you say it did fly;)

Photos in publications aren't much better. The Cheranovskii BICh-3 most likely?
