My first obvious thought is: somewhere in Croatia :E.
Čazma airfield (LDZC), an unassuming little strip located about an hour’s drive east of Zagreb…. Very unassuming indeed, if you look for it in the Giggle Earth. |
Correct,Regdep.

Dijon....? actually `Flamants`..
|
Correct country, wrong corner, sycamore.
Of course Flamant :ok: |
|
Not Cambrai Graeme. This was last year. Organised by a club that has 35 members.
By way of a further clue, here is a view to the site through a window of one of the two Dassault MD 312 Flamants. http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/...21um154624.png |
Angers-Loire ?
|
No, Brian.
The organising club's name was "Les Ailes Armoricaines" |
Given that huge clue presumably it's Guiscriff, Brittany then.
|
Duckbutt has it!
L’aérodrome Bretagne-Atlantique Guiscriff–Scaer-Gourin, 15 August 2010 Over to you :ok: A bit obscure, admittedly. But I found the story a 35-member club attracting 6,000 spectators, and all the performers contributing, just worth a homage. |
Good one Reg, I identified the Texan F-AZRB soon enough but until your clue couldn't find the right airfield.
I've had a good go lately so I'll declare open house. |
thank you DB open house -
try this one - I don't see it on the list http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v.../prune21-4.jpg |
Looks very green, so Emerald Isle? Donegal?
'866 P.S. OH in the unlikely event of getting it right! |
interesting reply 866 - but not Donegal
|
But it is Ireland? West coast?
|
It's not my country - Ireland - but it is situated in an Island Counrty !
|
hmmm 'island' , Icelandic for Iceland?
Egilsstadir? OH if correct... |
jensdad
correct open house - as you say |
|
Looks like some test range in Nevada or New Mexico.
|
NVAF Kep,North Vietnam?
|
Correct. Your control sabredog! :ok:
"Lt Col Bull Stirling of the 20th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron whips across the main runway of North Vietnam's Kep airfield. RF-101C Voodoo pilots went right into the path of enemy guns at enormous risk to bring back accurate intelligence" |
Thank you,Noyade. An excellent photograph.
The next challenge; http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...3/Quiz24-1.jpg |
Looks like deepest Ontario from the left seat of an RV-7 or 9
|
Looks more like deepest British Columbia, the 6,003-ft runway at Dease Lake, (CYDL), 58.25N 130.02W. Elevation 2,634'. Flew in there back in the late 1970s.
|
Well done, Brian, though not surprised at all.
YHC,Brian. |

Scammon Bay Airport,Alaska,U.S.A?
|
Sorry Terrence, not Alaska.
|
Sorry, posted in error and the system is not allowing me to delete the post.
|
Not Malta I know, but the closest edifice offshore bears a distinct resemblance to
Filfli Rock. |
Are there yellow rwy markings only in snowy areas? Many other than Norway?
|
I've seen yellow runway markings in Greenland, but yes, it is in Norway.
|
