This on the other hand, won't last long I fear, after checking Mels list and not finding it, I've dug a little deeper and realised it isn't so good as I'd hoped!

I just feel that if we are going to do real silhouettes, then they ought to be accurate.

I have seen phrases such as "sorry, I forgot to do this" and "I missed this bit" and " not sure from the image where this goes".

If images are not accurate, then people start typing misleading phrases into the web.

It's probably about time for my retirement.

Guys, one of things I said in my "guidelines" is that this should be for fun. The day we take it seriously is the day we should stop. We all make errors converting pictiures to silhouettes - it's called human error. We are ALL guilty of that. So let's show some tolerance.

Back to the challenge...familiar but can't place it...I'm guessing American? Somewhat Kitfox'ish....but the undercarriage is wrong.

I'm afraid it's not that, but it certainly looks very similar, mine has parallel struts though and is quite a bit earlier, although you may have seen this one too and I'm sure you know its designer's name ;)

So looking at a 1950's design?

Personal connection....well I guess that's Oshkosh, which got me looking at Wittman designs, amongst others, but nothing there...:ugh:.

Unfortunately with a connection speed under 100 kbps it is frustratingly slow...so a proper search of Aerofiles is out of the question.....:(

This aircraft is in the EAA AirVenture Museum, so you've probably seen it, and the reason you've been there is because the local airport manager was responsible for the EAA coming to Oshkosh and the airport now bears his name, as did your last post. Take another look at his works!! I wouldn't bother with Aerofiles though as there's no piccie, which is why I thought it may be worth using. Wiki would be better this time (but still no picture :) There was a replica built early this century (coo that sound odd doesn't it)!!
