I read the sad news in the Military forum...
May he rest in peace.

Lightning Mate 20th Aug 2011 19:55

Agreed.

Did you notice that the mods shut down the site this evening while they "sorted out the morons" ?

Some of us have had to live with the loss of fellow professional colleagues and dear friends. I am still in contact with the wives of several friends who never made it.

Thankfully I did.

You will never find a fighter pilot down in Hell............they all go elsewhere.......

Check my post 1162 above.

Just sk and me around..............SHOOT......

Lightning Mate 20th Aug 2011 20:07

Holy s##t mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That just has to be a project only - possibly WW2.

RegDep 20th Aug 2011 20:07

Good grief, HappyPass! What is that?

Not only a flipped piccie but a flopped aircraft?

HappyPass 20th Aug 2011 20:08

Re-read it.
You mean the whole Pprune site, not only the thread?
I didn't notice, was fighting (and winning) against a mammoth portion of homemade Beef Noodles, plus beer.
The Real McCoy, if you ask me... :ok:

What is that?
Y'mean specifically or generally? (hint, hint, hint...)

Lightning Mate 20th Aug 2011 20:10

That has to be twin finned or it ain't got any directional stability.

Come to think of it, there wouldn't be any anyway.

I humbly suggest that it never flew.................

HappyPass 20th Aug 2011 20:13

H tail, I'm positive it never flew, nor was built.
Even its "big brother" was cancelled (but at least one exemplar was built).

hmmm... looks like someone's nearing 4k... :ok:

RegDep 20th Aug 2011 20:19

Real McCoy… Norman…. Selby…..

HappyPass 20th Aug 2011 20:21

Not the boxer, Reg

Right. That's where I found it…….

Would that be some sort of autogiro, perchance?

skwinty 20th Aug 2011 20:31

Looks similar to a Miles M22 that also remained on the ground.:\

HappyPass 20th Aug 2011 20:36

Not an autogyro, Mate is closer.
Only, the Miles M-22 was submitted, this one was projected to satisfy a specification.

flipped piccie
Not flipped.

brokenlink 20th Aug 2011 20:43

First try at this competition so this may be way off the mark. Looks Italian WW2 era, Cant maybe?

BL

HappyPass 20th Aug 2011 20:45

Evening brokenlink, and welcome to the SC thread.
It is a WW2 project for sure, but it's not Italian.
You might want to check the other side of the field.

RegDep 20th Aug 2011 20:46

Was the big brother Grumman XF5F Skyrocket ?

HappyPass 20th Aug 2011 20:48

Nope.
The big brother had a power operated turret armed with cannons, and I think this one did too, since the specification was the same.
