Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 14:24

Not a racer Ken.

Ridge Runner 18th Jun 2012 14:28

a flying disc?

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 14:30

Almost Martin - more a blended wing.

Ridge Runner 18th Jun 2012 15:12

French????

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 15:25

Surely ther's no way the French could have designed something that revolutionary in 1918.

Going home - back shortly.

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 16:16

Well, you haven't said it's not French!. The tail designs reminds me of something Nieuport produced - but sadly the rest of the aircraft doesn't match:(. Time for a closer look.

SincoTC 18th Jun 2012 16:41

Evening Gents :),

First look of the day, playing catch-up for trip away, sorry for no-show yesterday but sodding Internet at home went down Sunday morning and don't know when it'll be back up :\:\ :ugh:

David, I think that's a Stout Batwing, but it'll have to be OH if it is 'coz of above problem, sorry.

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 17:17

I think that's a Stout Batwing
:D

Sadly, TC has declared Open House.

SincoTC 19th Jun 2012 05:54

Oh well, no overnight takers and as suspected no home Internet yet. At work now so I'll take my OH back, I'm gonna be busy today and that may make monitoring difficult as I've got a couple of longish meetings, however I'll do my best, but and I'll turn my light off if I know I'll be unable to monitor for a while, so let "usual rules" apply if seconded :ok:

To quote LM, this should be another easy one, it's not on Mel's list in any of it various designations, a one-off special version of it is on the list, but that had obvious visual differences!

Blimey mate - wot hours at work ? :\

SincoTC 19th Jun 2012 07:15

wot hours at work
True, but it's worthwhile work and I enjoy it!!

First meeting now, back in a while :ok:

skytrain10 19th Jun 2012 08:27

Morning all. Interesting one Trevor...there are not that many light aircraft around with parallel underwing struts. Off the top of my head I can only think of 4 or 5 makes. American....a Funk design?

SincoTC 19th Jun 2012 08:50

Morning Ken,

More utility than light, USA yes Funk no.

Back to meeting now!

Lightning Mate 19th Jun 2012 09:08

Morning Ken. :)

Looks like the dreaded Aerofiles search engine.:\

skytrain10 19th Jun 2012 09:14

The Bellanca 31 range looks very close - maybe the 31-42 Pacemaker?

Lightning Mate 19th Jun 2012 09:28

Looking at the tailplane bracing, maybe the Senior Pacemaker - I've just found the exact photo.

Looks like a good call mate.

skytrain10 19th Jun 2012 09:36

Must admit I couldn't find that photo David after searches for the 31-42...the source I was using just referred to Pacemaker, with the 31-40 and 31-42 as Pacemaker's. I see they are referred to in Aerofiles as Pacemaker Senior's. The JE-1 military variant also fits the bill.

Lightning Mate 19th Jun 2012 09:47

I can't get into Photobucket - I think the site is down.

I've stored the image.

Can you try and see if you can get in ?

If you Google Bellanca Senior Pacemaker it's down on line 11.

SincoTC 19th Jun 2012 09:54

Hi Guys,

My source has it as the The Bellanca "Senior Pacemaker" Transport Monoplane (420 h.p. Wright R-975E-3 engine).

So it looks like David got there first :D

I believe David also put up the one-off Special large-winged Packard-Bellanca Pacemaker last year.

Lightning Mate has control (or maybe not) see my new post on next page!!

Lightning Mate 19th Jun 2012 09:57

I cannot accept that mate.

Ken did the work and took me to it, so with respect I think it should be his.

edit: in any case I cannot access Photobucket.
