Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 08:27

NAMC YS-11 ?

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 08:37

NAMC YS-11 ?
Not the YS-11 David.

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 11:16

Between lectures. :uhoh:

Ken, is/was this a dedicated freighter ?

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 11:38

Ken, is/was this a dedicated freighter ?
It was for passenger's although I suspect remaining examples probably have been converted to freighters.

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 11:40

I asked that because yours has an unusually large rear door.

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 11:49

Good point David. There were cargo/combi option's but they were not developed at the time. At the time of the aircraft's development the few that were delivered were all passenger, but as I mentioned above, most were converted to freighters.

Noyade 18th Jun 2012 12:00

Morning gents.

Grumman Gulfstream Ken?

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 12:04

Grumman Gulfstream
Evening Graeme - yes, but this was a specific adaption, of which only 5 were built. It's yours anyway, but care to name it? :)

Noyade 18th Jun 2012 12:12

G'day Ken.

Dunno mate. But whatever it is, it'll have to be an Open House from me. I'm doing a Trevor - "early start tomorrow".....:)

Wiki ain't much help....looking further...

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 12:16

I was looking for the G-159C Gulfstream, aka Gulfstream IC Commuter. A stretch of the basic G1 developed in 1979, the project proved unsuccesful. It is mentioned in Wiki:)

Noyade has declared Open House.

Noyade 18th Jun 2012 12:39

I see...Dunno why, but I was looking for a windowless freighter version and I did find a source talking about a 1.57 m X 2.08 m cargo door, but no mention of a specific designation.

Cheers. :ok:

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 13:06

Interesting how a stretch of a well known aircraft can put people off :) Good to see at least 2 of them still earning their keep today.

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 13:18

...and what p####s me off is that I looked at the Gulfstream but the length of the ones I found didn't match yours.

I must look deeper next time. :\

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 13:39

but the length of the ones I found didn't match yours
I guess in this case size matters:)
You got one to post? If not I'll get one ready.

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 13:48

I've got ten!

skytrain10 18th Jun 2012 13:49

I've got ten!
Just one will do:) Go for it:ok:

Lightning Mate 18th Jun 2012 13:52
