All quiet so time for a clue....early 1960's design. As far as I can see just the one built.

Lightning Mate 15th Jun 2012 07:40

Morning Ken.

Not had much time lately - is yours based on a Grunau ?

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 07:44

Morning David:)

is yours based on a Grunau ?
Not based on a Grunau, nor is it a German design. The glider it was based on was produced in considerable numbers - over 2,000 were built.

Lightning Mate 15th Jun 2012 08:15

Based on the Antonov A1/A2 ?

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 09:17

Based on the Antonov A1/A2 ?
Yes, in this case the A-2:ok:

Noyade 15th Jun 2012 10:07

G'day mate. Did Antonov do the conversion from glider to motor-glider?

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 10:41

Hi Graeme, hope all is well? No, this was not done by Antonov. It was another company, not Russian, but from a former USSR state.

Lightning Mate 15th Jun 2012 10:59

Might that be Ukraine ?

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 11:03

Might that be Ukraine ?
Not Ukraine mate....further north.

Well, I've been through all 1960s manufacturers of Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia and drawn a blank.

Looks like it will have to be someone more clever than me to get this one.

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 11:57

Well, I've been through all 1960s manufacturers of Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia and drawn a blank.
In that case you've missed it - look again at Lithuania. We've had previous challenges from this manufacturer.

Ridge Runner 15th Jun 2012 14:03

the RK-5, Ken???

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 14:41

the RK-5, Ken???
On the right track Martin, but the RK-5 was an altogether more substantial looking machine. Different manufacturer but similar kind of numbering system:)

Ridge Runner 15th Jun 2012 14:54

so, a Kalinkauskas machine?

Lightning Mate 15th Jun 2012 15:00

A BRO design ?

skytrain10 15th Jun 2012 15:24

so, a Kalinkauskas machine?
No, note from Kalinkauskas, but the deisgners names does begin with K and end in S!

A BRO design ?
Not a BRO David. Incidentally I was expecting you to get this:)

Lightning Mate 15th Jun 2012 15:37
