Anyone interested in knowing who built this thing?

skwinty 12th Sep 2011 18:15

RegDep, I do not know when, here is the line from Wiki.

Edmund Schneider emigrated to Australia, where he developed the Baby design into his Baby 3 and Baby 4, which had enclosed cockpits.

Spit161, welcome, (somewhat belated):ok:

RegDep 12th Sep 2011 18:18

This had open cockpits.

Builder was a gliding club established in 1942 by employees of the Department of Aircraft Production, Beaufort Division, which built Bristol Beaufort bombers for the Royal Australian Air Force.

Spit161 12th Sep 2011 18:55

Ki-93? It's too big to be a Me110!

irishair2001 12th Sep 2011 19:00

Is it Russian ?

skwinty 12th Sep 2011 19:00

Yes, it's the Ki-93.

Do you remember the name?

Spit161 12th Sep 2011 19:10

Do you remember the name?
Nope. It escapes me!

RegDep 12th Sep 2011 19:15

Rikugun Ki-93 Giken, but I don't think there was an Allied Code Name assigned. Was there?

It was a prototype and did not make it to the war, so maybe did not need one.

skwinty 12th Sep 2011 19:15

Ok, you can beat me by one point.:E

Rikugun, a cool looking aircraft.

You have control, Spit161.:ok:

skwinty 12th Sep 2011 19:23

RegDep, according to Japanese Army Aircraft 1930-1950 - The Big Omnipedia

Ki-93 Rikugun Type 6 light bomber. CADS code name Nick. Heavily-armored ground attack aircraft possibly inspired by American A-38 Grizzly and Australian Commonwealth Ostrich. Intended to replace light bombers suich as the Ki-51 and Ki-71 it was too large and heavy to copy their essential characteristic, an ability to operate off bases only a few minutes from the front lines. Production of the Ki-93 was limited as a result and the type quickly faded from front-line service.

Anyhow, could one of you PM me with the best way to do silhouettes from pictures on GIMP or similar?

cheers.

skytrain10 12th Sep 2011 20:09

Lockheed SR-71 - or if not the YF-12A?

Spit161 12th Sep 2011 21:35

It is the SR71.

You have control.
