Standby Ken - I'm just trying to get him back here from another thread.

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 11:39

By all means. Ken, you have the thread. :)

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 12:08

Thanks Graeme....here's the next one:

Going offline for a while.....to reduce the searches, its classed as a LSA, not American.

Ridge Runner 11th Nov 2011 12:34

There were five aeroplanes posted on 25 May 2010 and the Boyero isn't one of them.
Just Ctrl+F and type Boyero and you'll see it. RR

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 15:23

Is the challenge also available in kit form?

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 15:38

Is the challenge also available in kit form?
Yes it is, despite its classification as a LSA:ok: Another source refers to it as an ultralight.

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 15:54

Sorry mate - I have to depart the fix and set track for the kitchen.

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 22:13

Clue for the night shift...a French design from the 2000's.

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 10:35

Hi Ken.

French? Possibly an Aurore product. The Mini Bulle MB 02-2?

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 11:49

Afternoon Ken,

Sleep well and have a good Sunday Graeme :)!!

Dunno what the exact differences are and Graeme's call may well be on the money, but I think it looks more like the Souris-Bulle MB04 ??

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 12:50

Afternoon all....sorry Graeme, not the MB-02, but you are very close.

However....

it looks more like the Souris-Bulle MB04
That's because it is:ok:

Lightning Mate 12th Nov 2011 13:30

'artnoon Ken. :)

Methinks TC is in his nice new office doing other things on his huge computer. I had the pleasure of seeing it.

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 13:51

Thanks Ken, you're not far wrong there LM :ok:

Here's my new challenge! (sorry about the quality but it was a small original)

http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/.../TC_wtf171.jpg

Edit:

Off home now, will be back online in about an hour

Lightning Mate 12th Nov 2011 15:43

Swiss?.............

diesel addict 12th Nov 2011 16:17

Looks a bit like the BAC Drone - but not sure about the fin..........

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 16:22

Not Swiss LM and not the BAC Drone DA, but it does look similar!

Not a lot of info on this one, but it's a Polish Motor Glider

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 17:18

Hi Trevor...there is some commonality with the AMA motorglider? 1950's era rather than pre WWII?

Edit, I wonder, is this the ZASPL Osa?

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 17:45

Evening Ken,

Hmm, I'm a little lost on this one as there's so little data, it is on a well known (to me :E) website, but I'm pretty certain that you know it and maybe have even used it, but in this case, the Data Section is full of question marks!!

The only positive thing I can say is that it was designed by an amateur Wieslaw Rogala after 1945

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 17:52

Funnily enough I was just doing a search on the Weissa motorglider when I saw your reply...sounds like it could be something designed by someone called Wieslaw:)?

but I'm pretty certain that you know it
I thought I was using the same one as you, but as there is no mention of Mr Rogala on it, maybe not!

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 17:58

Have you seen my edit above? I think the site may have changed, I found this one on a section devoted to amateur designers.

I'm just going offline for about fifteen minutes, I will put my light on when I get back.

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 18:07

Breaking off myself now....back later.

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 20:12

Evening!

Just the one built Trevor? Can you give us a year?

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 20:29

Morning Graeme,

Sorry, all Ithat's known is that it's post '45.

Strictly speaking the answer is already out of the bag and it only really need finding on the web. For that you really need to help Giggle out by using our dear friend Heikki's method of searching in the site's native language as motor-glider won't find it :)

Edit: just swapping houses, back in fifteen min!

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 20:51

just swapping houses, back in fifteen min!
Wow! Takes much longer here with banks, solicitors, inspections, cooling-off period - can take months.

:)

searching in the site's native language
How do ya do that? I've got a search box (for text) then next to it is a little magnifying glass (search) and next to that is a picture of a little house (maybe that's for house swapping?:)).

(PS- Love to know how ya upload and post those YouTube clips too).

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 21:09

just swapping houses
Mental picture...man (elderly :)) on the run from the police. Armed with a shotgun and systematically breaking into houses and using the occupants computer...to play silhouette challenge, briefly, then moving onto the next house.

Terrible life mate, give it up Trevor! Turn yourself in. I'm sure they have computers in prison.

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 21:10

All swapped and back now, we just have slick conveyancers here mate :p

How do ya do that?
Instead of searching for something in English when the likely location of the source is a site like Airwar or Aviafrance, where they don't have an English version of their site, I just use Giggle Translate to find out what, for example motor-glider is in German or Polish (the most likely sites for that kind of aircraft) and then copy and paste that word into the normal search box. Don't forget to check the Image tab too as it's easier to spot than a mass of Web pages!

You can then go one stage further by using the search whatever text inurl:Site url e.g. Pusher inurl:aerofiles.com will return a list of Aerofile entries with the word pusher in them in

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 21:25

OK! I'm on it...always willing to learn!

So...I'll try punching in " Wieslaw Rogala Silnik Płyną (prowadzić) samolotem "...

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 21:31

Thought I'd come back for another look.

Strictly speaking the answer is already out of the bag
Could it be that simple....? How about the Rogala Motor-glider?:)

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 21:36

Could it be that simple....?
No, it can't, now piss off Ken! I'm having a private tutorial here! :)

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 21:38

Welcome back Ken,

Could it be that simple....? How about the Rogala Motor-glider?
:ok::ok::ok:

I was hoping you'd find the page, but that'll do for me

Dammit Trevor! You're going too fast! It's all too much. I just want to recognise the bastard! :)

I'm done.

Sorry Ken, you were saying?

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 21:41

Continuing the tutorial :)

keep it simple Graeme, just giggle "rogala motoszybowca" (motor-glider in Polish) and check the image tab!

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 21:52

just giggle "rogala motoszybowca"
Motoszybowiec Rogali (PL)

Found that site earlier, but couldn't navigate it.

Thanks.

:)

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 21:56

was hoping you'd find the page, but that'll do for me
Blimey, wasn't really expecting that! Must admit the only translator I've ever used is Babel Fish, which doesn't include a Polish translation option. Looks like I will have to expand my knowledge:)

Haven't got anything ready, so if you've got something Graeme, go for it:ok:

Incidentally Trevor, must admit I would never have thought of the TU-144 on challenge...mind you never been close enough to the back end of one...just assumed the engines were more Concorde like!

Noyade 12th Nov 2011 22:02

if you've got something Graeme, go for ithttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/thumbs.gif
No mate, not at present. Heading off to the Sunday Markets shortly, so I'll catch you later.

Sleep well. :)

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 22:18

Enjoy the markets mate...perhaps you'll find a good book on Polish post-war motor-gliders:)

Well have just quickly prepared this one, so here goes:

http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...r/70fac89b.jpg

Yes, it's another pusher...

SincoTC 12th Nov 2011 22:19

Ken, I think that particular site (we were thinking of the same one?) also has a German version, so Motorsegler Rogala will also work! Not Tried Babel Fish, but I find Google Translate very useful and simple to use.

I agree about the Tu-144, which is why I chose it :E! I think most peoples mental picture of it are from the front!

Off to take my little friend walkies now afore bed, so I'll wish you goodnight :ok:

skytrain10 12th Nov 2011 22:27

(we were thinking of the same one?)
No, I was using a different site which is in French or English, hence couldn't find any reference to the Rogala/Rogali motorglider. Now Graeme has posted the link I'll add that one to my list as well!
Incidentally, PM coming to you shortly re the TU-144.
Good night:ok:

Noyade 13th Nov 2011 01:29

...perhaps you'll find a good book on Polish post-war motor-gliders:)
Incredible luck at the markets today Ken! :ok:

Incredible luck at the markets today Ken!
We're all doomed, doomed I tell you :uhoh::uhoh:!!

Looks like a good buy Graeme :ok:, so good bye, off to walk the mutt:)
