Martin,
There were five aeroplanes posted on 25 May 2010 and the Boyero isn't one of them. Karlark, Despite it's appearance this looks like a glider. |
Not a glider.... twin engined.
|
Sod it.....
A project or operational? |
Two demonstrators were built, however the production order was canceled due to shortage of materials.
|
Was that material wood by any chance?
|
You mean plywood? That must have been it. :)
|
Well, at some point during WW2 the stuff was becoming scarce in the USA, and Beech were working on a plywood bomber trainer.
However, I can find little else. |
Very close LM. Wartime USA but not Beech or a bomber trainer.
Well known manufacturer of small piston aircraft and business jets. |
Cessna C-106 perhaps?
Open house if correct please, as I need to get to grips with Photoshop if I'm to play nicely! |
That's the one, Cessna C-106 Loadmaster aka P260. :ok:

Cool!

|
Good morning Ken.
It is indeed. :ok: Back to you. |
Thanks David. Saw its successor, the Scud 2 earlier this year at Old Warden.

VTOL?..............
|
Took off vertically....no idea how it landed.
|
No wheels then probably.
Did the pilot know how to land it, or wasn't there one.......? |
No wheels.
15 feet long. 4 booster rockets plus "liquid propellent sustainer motor". Cruciform tail. Slightly swept wings. Ramp launched. Wingtip flares for tracking. French. Circa late 50's... |
Happy to withdraw it and return to open house. Don't even know if it's on the net.
Just looked interesting. :) |
Something from Wibault?
|
A company called D.E.F.A.
Direction Des Etudes Et Fabrications Dármement. A practice rocket for training in missile handling and firing techniques. |
Have you found it on the web?
Surely not tea on a Friday night!!! |
Google says it's on Flight Global...
DEFA Maruca missile - Google Search But I can't open it. It was the D.E.F.A MARUCA. Didn't mean to spoil your day, so... OPEN HOUSE. Continue on. :) |
Surely not tea on a Friday night!!! Now, if I can just research challenges better....:) |
Was about to say I've found it, and it is on the web! Bit too late by the look of it:)
|
What on earth did you type to find that Ken?
|
What on earth did you type to find that Ken? Don't think I would have found easily without the manufacturer! |
I find searching in Flight Archive a pain.
I must be doing sumfin' wrong. :\ Graeme, since Ken did find it I feel the thread should go to him. |
