Martin,

There were five aeroplanes posted on 25 May 2010 and the Boyero isn't one of them.

Karlark,

Despite it's appearance this looks like a glider.

Karlark 10th Nov 2011 13:30

Not a glider.... twin engined.

Lightning Mate 10th Nov 2011 13:35

Sod it.....

A project or operational?

Karlark 10th Nov 2011 13:41

Two demonstrators were built, however the production order was canceled due to shortage of materials.

Lightning Mate 10th Nov 2011 14:52

Was that material wood by any chance?

Karlark 10th Nov 2011 15:23

You mean plywood? That must have been it. :)

Lightning Mate 10th Nov 2011 15:37

Well, at some point during WW2 the stuff was becoming scarce in the USA, and Beech were working on a plywood bomber trainer.

However, I can find little else.

Karlark 10th Nov 2011 16:06

Very close LM. Wartime USA but not Beech or a bomber trainer.

Well known manufacturer of small piston aircraft and business jets.

Father Dick Byrne 10th Nov 2011 16:38

Cessna C-106 perhaps?

Open house if correct please, as I need to get to grips with Photoshop if I'm to play nicely!

Karlark 10th Nov 2011 16:44

That's the one, Cessna C-106 Loadmaster aka P260. :ok:

Sounds like you need help from a pro!

It's not American.

Karlark 11th Nov 2011 02:26

Cool!

Ken, is it a Chudzik CC-02?

Edit: Open House if confirmed correct.

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 07:21

is it a Chudzik CC-02?
Good call Karl, yes it's the Chudzic CC-02 homebuild from France:ok: Plenty of photo's on the web if you Google it, and I think "cool" pretty much sums it up:)

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 09:00

Good morning Ken.

It is indeed. :ok:

Back to you.

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 09:29

Thanks David. Saw its successor, the Scud 2 earlier this year at Old Warden.

Here we go:

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 10:25

VTOL?..............

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 10:29

Took off vertically....no idea how it landed.

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 10:32

No wheels then probably.

Did the pilot know how to land it, or wasn't there one.......?

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 10:37

No wheels.

15 feet long.

4 booster rockets plus "liquid propellent sustainer motor".

Cruciform tail. Slightly swept wings. Ramp launched. Wingtip flares for tracking.

French. Circa late 50's...

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 10:39

Happy to withdraw it and return to open house. Don't even know if it's on the net.

Just looked interesting. :)

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 10:42

Something from Wibault?

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 10:47

A company called D.E.F.A.

Direction Des Etudes Et Fabrications Dármement.

A practice rocket for training in missile handling and firing techniques.

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 10:57

Have you found it on the web?

Surely not tea on a Friday night!!!

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 11:05

Google says it's on Flight Global...

DEFA Maruca missile - Google Search

But I can't open it.

It was the D.E.F.A MARUCA. Didn't mean to spoil your day, so...

OPEN HOUSE.

Continue on. :)

Noyade 11th Nov 2011 11:08

Surely not tea on a Friday night!!!
Tea and milk tonight. I'm a new man! 20 kilos lighter. Liver function levels back to normal and cholesterol level halved! :ok:

Now, if I can just research challenges better....:)

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 11:09

Was about to say I've found it, and it is on the web! Bit too late by the look of it:)

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 11:17

What on earth did you type to find that Ken?

skytrain10 11th Nov 2011 11:22

What on earth did you type to find that Ken?
After seeing Graeme's 1147 post I just did a search for DEFA in the Flight Archive, and bingo:ok:.
Don't think I would have found easily without the manufacturer!

Lightning Mate 11th Nov 2011 11:24

I find searching in Flight Archive a pain.

I must be doing sumfin' wrong. :\

Graeme, since Ken did find it I feel the thread should go to him.
