Anyone else now view the Beaufighter control column as looking quite modern whereas before the F-1 steering wheels had similar-ish shapes/outlines the Beaufighter pole looked dated to say the least!

Well it has a Russian or Eastern Bloc look to it - instruments show twin engine?

Think it`s more Germanic(neater) than Russian...

Spook you are correct in that it was a Russian aircraft and had twin engines.
