What Cockpit?
Apples and pears..............zzzz
You shouldn't have gone to bed, dook! My first guess was the Boulton Paul Balliol, but the panel didn't match, so I looked into other 1940s-1950s side-by-side advanced trainers.

Over to I42.......
Over to I42.......
I'm also sorry for the delay, but it's due to me being a gentleman of leisure these days and deciding to stay in bed this morning!
The view out of the Athena cockpit must have been appalling with those gun sights in the way.
Here's a cockpit that I actually had lined up for once!

US piston. Not designed as a trainer, but I'm sure it has taken on that role. More clues later, if required.

Well, those control wheels are very Ryan, but it does look like a twin, so could it be a Twin Navion?
I see that Bear is on the same track, dunno if his designation is a twin though!

You can see an engine on the right....
Sorry guys. I’ve been out enjoying the +16° weather.
Yes, the Twin Navion. A fascinating development history. It all started with a Navion owner who wanted to buy a twin. His AME said why don’t we put two engines in yours? Not difficult and it’s only a minor mod. A Form 337 will do!

I saw our local one at a fly-in breakfast recently, which is what prompted me to look for a cockpit photo:

Well spotted SincoTC, you have control.

Thanks I-42, good challenge
I spent quite a while searching for a photo showing that overhead panel after I decided it must be Navion of sorts due to those characteristic control wheels, plus that glimpse of a nacelle out of the window confirmed it 's twin! I did find a couple but they all had slightly different layout on OH panel and modern looking control wheels, but as it seemed they were all mods anyway, there were bound to be variations, so I decided to take a punt
Here's the next one!
Now I'm off to bed too!

Leather straps on the rudder pedals. Germany or points further east?
