Afternoon Karlark,

Well spotted! It was an intubed propellor aircraft, but it's not the Stipa

Edit:
G'day Graeme

I spotted the clock was off again so editing this will be the best way to get it beside Graeme's correct answer the Collins Aerodine Noyade had control

Edit2: I see Graeme has requested an Open House (saved at 20:20 GMT)

The Collins - Aerodyne...?

Open House if it is.

A late night look in and not many on line as I expected.

I see that the Clock is behaving itself at the moment. So that the main page shows a new post, I'll post this and repeat that it is an Open House as per my edit above Noyade's correct guess!

My challenge was the Collins Aerodyne of 1960, also known as the Lippisch Aerodyne

Forgive me for following on, but it's been OH for too long and I've got to monitor a cockpit, so let's keep things rolling!

Is it some sort of upside down thrust vectoring experiment; or the entrance to a public toilet with glazed tiles?

That's the one sabredog

It is he PAC JF-17 Thunder AKA the CAC FC-1 Xiaolong(Fierce Dragon)

A light-weight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAC) of China, the Pakistan Air Force and the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC). Its designation "JF-17 Thunder" by Pakistan is short for "Joint Fighter-17", while the designation "FC-1 Xiaolong" by China means "Fighter China-1 Fierce Dragon".

Well, I'll be buggered. With your original image I magnified it and was convinced it was some sort of experimental intake on the Voodoo or the Thunderflash.

Good clue, good challenge and thanks for the larger image.

The Beech Model 73 Jet Mentor...

Open House....for the time being. Cheers.
