Just to keep things ticking over...
Going to have an early night as am going to Duxford tomorrow-will be off-line until the evening. (Unless solved this evening in which case disregard the foregoing...)

Thank you, Olympus.
603 Sqdn. indeed. Richard Hillary's old squadron during the Battle of Britain.
The next challenge should not last very long, and although not an airfield,it was at the time,a seaplane base.

RAF Castle Archdale is correct Sabre SiR.
On the east shore of Lough Erne, Northern Ireland. A famous Coastal Command RAF & RCAF Sunderland and Catalina base. Picture about 1944.
As BS observes, Killadeas is about 4 miles further south and was, I understand more of a flying boat OTU, with St Angelo airfield as the Coastal Command Instructors School a similar distance south of Killadeas. RAF Boa Island - a signals station at the top end of Lough Erne, completed the picture. LFH
Sabredog has control.

Many thanks,LFH. My poor editing of a photograph caption is to blame for confusing the issue! Especially remiss, as I know Lough Erne and the Fermanagh Lakes very well. Thank you, Blanket Stacker, for pointing it out.
