Which Aerodrome Mk III
I've been here, but not flown from this location:
Not British Columbia.
I've been here I think - we spent a night there about 30 years back - is it Los Angeles in Washington State? I think it or the port area featured in Hunt for Red October??
You can just see the "Coast Guard" label on the hangar - and I detected a weasel factor in "not in British Columbia....."

I drove out to have a look while waiting to catch the Coho ferry to Victoria last August. Nice views from the spit, but you can't see much of the base from the gate!

Asturias has control.
PS The amphibian in front of the hangar looks like a Douglas Dolphin. What's the biplane flying overhead?
Slb, I think you are right. I had never heard of the PN flying boats, but it looked awfully familiar, which I now put down to having found out that the PN series were a development of the Felixstowe flying boats.

The transfer of Ryan from helicopter to submarine was filmed in the area of the Juan de Fuca Strait and Puget Sound at Port Angeles, Washington State. The area is supposedly renowned for its mists and rain but, wouldn't you know it?, production was held up by day after day of bright sunshine.

The reason it stuck in my memory was that we stayed at a very upmarket "B&B" in a large converted house there - all was fine until the breakfast when the guests discovered that the 2 lady owners had been at the sauce overnight and were still drunk as lords..... it was a very Faulty Towers meal.................
Let us try this one

The altimeter is showing 100'. Is this an airfield near sea-level or is it in a country that still uses QFE?
Definitely NOT in Australia John - but agree as to the look of the place. Quite busy and "international" in the name but I think there are only internal flights operating normally. It was opned post 2000
neither................ quite a large town/city but not very famous....
You know I did that one last month............
I guess one airport waiting area IS pretty much the same as the next - but this is a longer walk than SCQ should you wish to visit - a lot longer walk.........
