Yes, where Laurence Olivier apparently trained as a pilot but not much further. HMS Kestrel the shore station sunk by Joyce. Other pilots mentioned being Bader, Gibson, Warburton, and a young Geoffrey de Havilland.

Shall I get the show on the road with a guess at Membury?
Later, on reflection, no Invasion Stripes. Perhaps this is the Big Lift to Berlin.

Thanks, Whack-O! Very recently in Cricklade with son, Blakehill, Down Ampney,, and Jimmy Edwards were discussed. Lack of Invasion stripes explained by date of photograph.
I have a little something. Perhaps overnight there may be an Iron Age expert in the Southern Hemisphere who might spark.

Ho-ho, very fast. Yes; I have never flown there but one of the organisations which in past years flew there slipped me a few onecers for services elsewhere. It is a name which, beside the troopship, creates a nasty whiff over links between two shiny-faced public school Oxford politicians. Neither has been honoured in retirement from the top job, but both are, apparently, raking it in.
Rant over. RAF Windrush, all yours.
