Cannot properly synchronise the re-population of Heligoland post WW1 with the aircraft on the island. The Noratlas is a help in overcoming my doubt that this may be that former British colony, where I believe that the airfield is Dune.
Luftwaffe Noratlas airdropping...
SLB,there is nobody in the driving seat of that Sycamore..! must have been a very `urgent call of nature` to have got out, even getting out was difficult enough, and rotor rpm seem high..? photoshopping...?

I use Photoshop for various purposes, one time professionally and that photo looks genuine.
I don't suppose that the collective could rise by itself.
I think it was an urgent relief operation.

The Sycamore was indeed used during the disaster reliëf in 1962 Flooding.
Wangerooge photos
I could not identify the 1920s plane 100%
I thought Rumpler C VII because of the N shaped struts, No spinner cap and General layout of engine exhaust and radiator.
Only the cutout in the upper wing for pilot looks to be wider than on Rumpler photos.
The Aviatik comes also close, has a wider cutout, but also a spinner cap.
Anyone who can give**a Final word on it is welcome.
