Which Aerodrome Mk III
I am not aware that the Dutch had any influence in Ceylon?
correction
VOC property, sold in 1776 to the Brits.
I believe however that relationship with Sri Lanka is quite warm.
Probably because Great Britannia handled the independancy?

The immediate months post WW2 seem to have been difficult. With regard to the original photograph, I found several hangars with similar appearance to the specimen. The era of the people appeared to match the dates of the answer.
So, thanks, one now for the evening and night. Let's start with the fact of its naming after a prominent sportsman.

Not on the eponym list, and no relevance to your other sporting examples. This sportsman, dead when field opened, was further renowned far from his homeland for his WW2 activities. One of his contemporaries, to whom he was a sporting mentor, found much greater sporting fame but less in his military role. That said, the contemporary knew a bit about 'stress.'
