Which Aerodrome Mk III
Lost a bit in translation!
Magnetic variation only has to change by about point 1 for the runway designator to change. It happens all the time eg not long ago Brize Norton went from 26 to 25.

I didn't change Farnborough to runway 24 (from 25) until late 2001, long after the last Lightnng (regretfully) flew in the UK but I did get a b0ll0cking from OC Flying for clearing a Lighting for a 'reheat departure' just before they were retired.
Thanks for the explanations!
Never realized it could change with a small move of the magnetic North. But makes Logic when the runway is actually on a 5 degree direction where the round up or down changes it quite fast.
SLB
Back to ‘62 challenge with a easterly embankement under a soaring heat. Boy, feel I sorry for those 2 firefighters on guard.
