Graeme,
I'm sure you're right - my source states it was re-engined with three Wright Whirlwind J-5s just before it stalled in a turn while on a test flight carrying a fuel load intended to get it across the Atlantic. The subsequent crash killed its crew of Commander Noel Davis and Lieutenant Stanton Wooster of the US Navy.
Your picture shows part of the aircraft's name & sponsor "American Legion".
Congratulations!
John C.
P.S. My link will not work unless you include the magic word bl*gsp*t in place of the asterisks.

First apologies for leaving the thread unattended for longer then planned. Graeme has it. A Keystone Pathfinder which according to my source was the American Legion rebuilt after its crash for West Indian Aerial Express and operated by them 1927/1928 before being absorbed into Pan American. Noyade has control.
