Designed for speed?
Well yes; but only inasmuch as a fighter doesn't want to be a slow-coach, as you well know! It toted a pair of 7.7mm Vickers MG

Good evening and goodnight Graeme !

It is indeed the Romanian IAR.14 Fighter, fitted with a license built Lorraine-Dietrich 12 Eb, 12-cylinder W-form watercooled in-line 340 kW (450 hp)

I.A.R. 14 - fighter

Noyade has requested an Open House Sleep well

Edit: sorry to disappoint LM; can't think of one right now!

All I can find on Mels' list is the Lawrence Water Glider.

An AOP machine, Ken????

Edit: those u/c struts seem to come up the fuselage side a long way, Ken. Is that correct? And are those small windows on top of the cabin, hence the AOP question?

Hi Martin.
Not an AOP machine mate.
Yes the struts do come up the fuselage sides a fair way.
Those are windows on top behind the windscreen.
