Evening Ken...

unless it inadvertently lands on you!
How big is it?
What's its purpose?
Remotely controlled UAV?

Is it happy?

All very good questions....

Size...small, I presume around 13ft in diameter (I'll try to confirm this!)
Purpose...test vehicle
Manned

Is it happy?
Probably not, it was replaced by bigger and presumably better models. Looks like it should have been in 2001

Edit, ignore the size....my theory blown apart....more like 40 ft in diameter!

What I thought would be a straightforward challenge appears not to be.
I don't think anything is straightforward in life mate....

Thirteen feet in diameter and it carries a man?! Inside? What's the propulsion system?

It is a sphere I think you said? That's not just the front view of something Zeppelin shaped?

And it's opaque?

Evening David!

Trevor has a spoilt dog. I have spoilt children and I now drive their lazy asses to school. Light will be on...but I am not here. Story of my life. Don't wait up...

Graeme, see my edit.....

Definitely a sphere. 2 props, no details on make.

The designer has produced several different spherical airships, as well as other shapes, including one particular large airship last year.

21st Century Airships?
That'll do for me Karl. Designed by Hokan Colting who claims to have produced what was, at the time, the worlds largest airship last year.

Karlark has control.

Edit, sorry Graeme and David, but Karl was there first with the manufacturer (which was all I wanted). As for the model number I am not entirely clear whether it was the -4 or -13. If it was the -13 it was clearly modified, so I am assuming it was the SPAS-4.
