Ahhhhh De Havilland... what a fine aeroplane.

I was once flying overhead Khartoum when the skipper asked me to get the Khartoum weather.

Speedbird *** requesting your weather actual.

Khartoum... we haven't got any weather.

Speedbird *** can't you look out of the window?

Long pause...

Khartoum... we haven't got any windows!

Thanks. Here is the next mystery aerodrome: (Sorry for the small photo, it was the only oblique photo of the field I could find)

Looks like UK.

T2 hangar, Nissen huts, roads not straight, etc., but the taxyway seems to be a long way from the runway.

Could be on Salisbury plain, but I can't find anything to match.

Yes it is in England, but not Salisbury Plain. Go NE. Note the aerodrome is no longer visible from google earth. What was once a portion of runway is now a grove of trees or a hedgerow. The photo was taken looking east.

Just wondering to how many WW2 airports in the UK would that apply, e.g.
AKEMAN STREET AERODROME

My turn?

I hope this is not too obscure. The photo is taken facing west, and the entire area is currently flooded....

From the flood reference, I deduce the Darling Downs in SE Queensland.

Is it a Cockie's runway?

No, not Corynnia.

A clue then: there are three aircraft visible, one on finals and two parked near the trees in centre right - they're all Chipmunks.

Cheers.

Well done Smokeon, Groongal it is!

Site of the fabled Groongal annual Chipmunk Fly-in for over 20 years - actually the name is painted on the roof of the nearest shed.

Open house.
