Little cloud you were so accurate in your first analysis that I even could not confirm all your findings. I was scared stiff that you would make it on your next stab.

Merry Christmas Mr G and everybody else!

I can't help with the Open House, but I do wish everyone a very Merry Christmas , and I hope to be back on line after Boxing Day!

As it's open house and the festive season, an easy and liquid WA for you all. In my six stopovers this year I have always parked the aeroplane as seen, a whole 25 paces from the PUB door! The fence is a recent addition to deter terrorists (I wish I was joking). Shouldn't last long, merry christmas all.

Quite correct Smokeon, it is Birdsville in western Queensland, the building in the background being the 'Birdsville Hotel'.

The floor is yours.

Many thanks,asw28-866.
The Austrek Air Charter Cessna 205B Grand Caravan (VH-OZH) and the cairns beneath the port wing were excellent clues!
OPEN HOUSE.

I did not recognise Birdsville - my only visit there was in 1976 when this picture was taken
Still open house

Yes well OZH is no longer with Austrek but otherwise quite correct. The green machine and I were at BDV en-route to lake eyre on a three day trip we were doing over the winter.

Descol, I'll post one from the races this year, not such dry weather, parking on the hardstanding only as several aircraft had got bogged!

That's the Hume Highway between Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. I don't know what an aeroplane is doing there.

Neither correct I'm afraid. It is a promulgated airstrip though - even though it's bordering on the ridiculous!! (that was a clue - just there)

If it gets too hard I'll post a GoogleEarth overhead.

D'you know, I don't look for the aerodrome....I look for who is posting.

I see Smokeon has made an appearance again, and I can't compete with him.

As a guess, I propose Mavuene or Dzitsoni before he gets it right

evans gets today's star prize Border Village it is. Why they call that particular bit a runway beats me. Still, there's fuel there and in that part of the world it's a long way between drinks.

Eastern Europe? The former East Germany perhaps?

Not Europe, but I can see why one might think former Eastern Bloc.
