Hi Skytrain, Reg and LM (maybe having light trouble again,, edited to say that doesn't seem to be the case!!),
I dismissed Clutton's designs last night for the same reasons as Reg mentions, plus more importantly the tail shape.
After your confirmation, I have searched deeper and found a more likely looking candidate in the "Clutton Fred 11" G-ORAS.
The cockpit still looks too far back, maybe perspective as you say. I can'y find your picture though, where you at Sywell and took your own?

Well done, it is the Clutton Fred Srs 2, and it was a photo of G-ORAS that I used.
Looks like both LM and Sinco got there at the same time (1242) but LM's post come's up first, so LM has control.

Yes I know it's not listed, I picked up the tail shape in images and that's the caption!!
Edited to say:
All is clear now; a caption writers typo, it should have read II not 11
I should have realised that, but when I goggled the Srs 2 from Wiki, all I got was a blue machine with an angular topped fin, ditto with 3 so thought the list wasn't up to date!
Well done LM

Now I know what the "illusion" is. In the photo you see clearly the plexi windshield, but the space looks "empty" in the silhouette and that's why you "imagine" the cockpit more front....

Pure coincidence with 16 million colours to schoose from! Have you got your Lotto tickets yet mate!
Lots of jobs to do this afternoon, so not too much time to spare. Not worth looking in Yellow Pages for this, but how about Aerofiles??

I've had a quick trawl through all the single seat biplanes without success; I may have missed it of course, but I suspect that it has been cunningly chosen from one of the many biplanes that don't carry the helpful code !!
So until details of the (radial) engine, or the revelation that there are other hidden seats emerge, I shall have to withdraw and attend to the waiting chores . Back later!
Edited to say same here on temperature. The birds seem convinced it's spring, but they don't know what's happened on the Eastern seaboard of the USA, we usually cop it a couple of weeks later!!

Just seeing your edit (3-seater, multiple engines), but no time to check!
is it a Kreider-Reisner (Fairchild) KR-34C ?? AKA Challenger
Edited to say going offline now, I doubt it is, but if correct put up any of mine left and I'll be back in an hour or two!

I have returned!
Sorry Reg, it's not the LUNA and there's no hidden details; in fact the body is rather plain and looks for all the world like a bomb casing with wings (which it isn't BTW).
I can see where you were attracted by the down-turned tips and the LUNA's engine could have been lurking in the silhouette!
