I presume that IS an extension of the planform above the nose of the challenge?
Not seen anything like it before: obviously looking in the wrong places ho ho.
Best wishes to you all, from a long-time lurker.

Not German RR, but on the right continent!
Best Wishes to you too Arado
Yes it was the true shape of the L/E and it certainly was a weird planform for its day, but a favourite of its designer with other similar looking aircraft in a fairly short career!

Sorry LM, at home now and VPN down until New Year so no home email, can you PM it?
Edited say that I will be going in to work over the holidays to check emails, deliveries etc, but not 'til next week, so if it's not urgent I'll pick it up then.

OK Guys,
Things aint exactly galloping on this one (understandable at this time of year), so I am going out now for a couple of hours or so, to do some essential last minute chores now that the snow has released its icy grip!!
I'll turn my light off now and put on when I return, be patient and check out LM's link while waiting, it's well worth a look.

@ Lightning Mate
PM inbound
Jig Peter
edit : Dud round ...
Nevva mind, 'twas just to send Seasonal wishes, and NOT send rude fighter-pilot-type remarks about asymmetric landing gear.
Festive alcohol can also have a bad effect on main gear operation ...
Cheers and crossed fingers

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
May Santa bring you what you wished for.....
Cheers
And Sinco....no idea on the challenge, but now I've finally finished work I'll try and give it some thought. Like RR I was wondering whether it was German. The wingspan seems quite short in relation to the fuselage - would it be a racer?

Orrabest John , and may both engines remain running.
Nothing worse than a Meteor on one.......
Err, correction - a Jaguar on one.
No, no, it's a Jaguar on none. My Martin Baker tie reckons so.......

Well done Ken,
I'm glad my absence didn't unduly hamper your search, it is indeed the Dobkevicius D.III a Fighter, its designer Jurgis Dobkevicius had built two similar aircraft, but died in the D.III when he hit trees while landing two years after its first flight in 1924. The aircraft showed excellent performance and 185 were built for the Latvian Air Force.
