Good afternoon skytrain,
Not too much time to spare today so while at lunch, I'll ask a couple of questions, as it seems to have a four cylinder engine, is it an Argus?
Is the challenge German?
Back to work now, try an get back later!

...and that image is nothing like the 3-view!
Check:
engine
number of floats
location of floats
float struts......
I found that image this afternoon and dismissed it for those reasons.
But I know what is.....

Yes the photo is the Mussel II with amphibian float + wing floats and I firstly discounted it for the same reason . Only seen a photo of the landplane Mussel I but the accompanying text said "converted to landplane" so looked to be a contender.
Nothing prepared and offline all day tomorrow so best to go Open House

Regarding the photo...thats the only one I could find on the web (only found it today on a very obscure website). The 3-view (as per my challenge) is available on at least 2 sites, including as has been said, the Flight Archive. If you read the history of the aircraft you'll understand that changes were made to the aircraft, and clearly the photo was taken during this evolution. However, from a very personal point of view, if I had come across that photo whilst searching, there are enough similarities to take it further.
